cold morning in the blind..

A very chilly morning--WC factor below 10. Ice dropping from the sky. Had 2 gaddys come in early---safety frozen. Then I called in 4 geese and totally blew that shot. The wind kept shifting on me and the geese didn't come in like I expected but still should have put one down.

hopefully this winter storm will move a few ducks in for the last two weeks of season.

Re: cold morning in the blind..

those are the best times to hunt, i wish we had some of that going on here

this has been the worst season on record for ducks and geese, they have no need to feed hard when its 60 degrees all year

i havent even seen a snowflake yet this year and its mid january.....its really sad, this season had so much promise for us

Re: cold morning in the blind..

I`m just glad to see folks still waterfowling. Our season ended in mid Nov when all the birds left due to the migration. Season stars in early Sept. The first cold spell did`nt help either. We`ve hunted in some prettty nasty weather up here when duck hunting. Right now it is -40 and all our seasons are over.

We`re just used to the nastier the weather, the better the waterfowling.

Good luck for the rest of your seasons guys.

Ron
