LETMGROW
I have a virtual library of food plot DVD's. Today I picked one up at Gander Mountain for $9.95 which is entitled " Planting Food Plots From A to Z ". This was produced by Antler King. While basic in nature it does a good job covering all aspects of planting and maintaining food plots. I would recommend this to anybody just starting out as they don't get so technical as to confuse a beginner. Good info at a reasonable price. LETMGROW
Re: Bought another DVD If in fact you mean cheap, the answer is no! If you want to do all the work by hand with a minimum of tools you can plant some no-till varities with some success. You still have to lime and fertilize to get good plant growth. The more you are willing to put into the project , the more you will get out of it. Start with a soil sample to see how much lime and fertilizer you will have to buy. This will be a good indicator of how much you will end up spending. As I have said many times before there is no free lunch. Productive food plots cost around $250 per acre from start to planted. This of course varies a bit depending on your test results and requirements. Some seed is cheaper than others, but like anything else you get what you pay for. Good sound planning would be your best aproach to an economic, productive plot.
