Re: Blazer vanes

I bought some arrows with the blazers on em and I like em.. My groups did get tighter but it also wasn't as accurate as my other arrows. They had better groups so this summer I will neeed to fix my sights so I can shoot with these arrows.

Re: Blazer vanes

Blazers were made to stabilize fix blade broadheads. I noticed a big difference with my Muzzy's. There quieter and do seem to fly better. They also make a smaller Blazer for 3D shooters. The ones I use are for hunting.

Somebody called them and they sent a few Blazers for free to test! Maybe give them a call and ask! If you do not get any from them shoot me a PM!

Re: Blazer vanes

Everyone talks about the speed increase and more stable flight the blazers provide. A few folks also add these fletchings are very quiet.

I agree with all those observations.

Probably the most underated benefit of the blazer fletchings is the significant increase in FOC you get on your arrows. Many experienced archers know that a higher FOC is needed to stabilize fixed broadheads than fieldpoints. Most often overlooked however is the role FOC plays in keeping the penetration path of the arrow straight. This is why you hear about folks complaining that mechanicals are only good for broadside shots because they "turn" in animals shot at an angle. FOC is important for mechanicals not so much on the stable flight end as it is on terminal performance. In my experience just enough FOC to get good broadhead flight on ANY style broadhead is never enough for predictable penetration.

Bottomline especially if you are shooting carbon arrows if your FOC is less than 10% you probably need a heavier broadhead.

Really appreciate it guys, I'll let you know if I get a response from Bohning. I insist on paying for them if I get them from you guys though!

Well, you just dont understand it yet! See, I was given some by other forums members here, and I just want to return the favor that was done for me! Kind of a make you feel good thing! LOL! Luke and another member each gave me enough vanes to get started out and trying different options of vanes. Luke got me started in the Bohning Killer vanes, and Tom from Ohio started me on the Blazers. So, I wont have it any other way! Sure Luke feel the same! Just keep us in mind. if you dont get you sample pack!

Re: Blazer vanes

Has anyone tried the blazers with the shrink wrap on them, that you heat up and it sticks to the arrows? If so did it work? Also how do blazers compare to the 2.5" Quick Spins?
