I put it in a brine made up of 1 bag of brown sugar, bottle of honey and bottle of pure maple syrup. Soaked in the brine for 3 days and then smoked over apple limbs for about 8 hours...MMMMMMMMMMM. I always cook as per the directions, usually add a little water to the bottom of the pan I am cooking the ham in and use the glaze that comes with those type hams.
