I bought one and tryed using it for the first time this year in Illinois. I saw a large buck at about 75-100 yards with a doe so I tried to snort wheeze at him and he just turned tail and run. After that I put it in my bag and never got it back out. Im sure it is a great call but now im kinda timid about useing it.

don't have that call, although i'd be interested in it.

i heard my first snort wheeze last year. had a group of bucks running a few does in my area, and there was this one little 7ptr all lathered up. he'd run to the bottom of the hill, snort wheeze and run back up. it was kinda funny.

i imagine it would work at times.

Don't have the call but was watching a Road Trip show where Micheal Waddel used his mouth for a snort wheeze and brought in a nice buck. I tried this several time and brough deer in each time. I had a buck chasing a doe and the grunt didn't work, the can didn't work but the snort/wheeze turned him as he marched back with his back bristled up. Didn't get a shot but it was fun. Are there only certain times the snort/wheeze should be used?

That's a good sound, but like 2500HD said you don't need a call to make it. Be careful though because sometimes you'll snort/wheeze at a nice buck and he'll just about come out of his skin trying to clear out. Not every deer with a nice rack like to scrap!
