just wondering... about a 15 degree elevation in height, shooting up hill... the yardage was at least 600, after the hike to get to the target, it looked like it could have been closer to 800... but the result was 6 feet of drop crazy.gif um, i know i wasn't rock-solid on my brace (which was a scrub-oak brush that was pretty solid), but i've shot deer and elk before and not had that kind of drop in the field. any ideas?

shooting a browning BAR 7mm rem mag with federal vital shok ammo (160 grain nosler partition bullet) barrel was hot, shot 7 rounds, let it cool for 5 mins, then another 2 rounds. the 9th shot was the actual hit

There is only one way to find zero on any given rifle/ bullet comb. You have to shoot it! Forget the ballistic charts and get to the range. Those feel good charts are for novices or someone who is too lazy to do their homework.

That is the best advice I have seen in a long time!! cool.gif

While not exact, they are fairly close. I agree 100% that shooters should definately put the round on paper to see what it is exactly at longer ranges. It is usually close enough to get you on a 2'x2' paper though at long range. By long range I mean past 400 yards. Out to 300 yards, I know the charts are close enough.
