wtnhunt
After finding my bow shot doe eaten by coyotes yesterday, I do not plan to hunt afternoons with a bow again anytime real soon, just dont think I could take a shot on a deer with the bow right now knowing if it falls out of sight after dark it will likely be coyote bait. This afternoon I will be able to get out about 3:30 and I am hoping things in my field may have cooled down enough that the deer will be back. My dilemna is whether or not to try to bust some coyotes over where I found my doe. It is a ways off from the field and would not think it would affect future deer hunting. I plan to get back out Saturday afternoon, our rifle opens back up and I can kill a couple does with the rifle. Should be some hit my plots in my field just before dark. Think shooting some coyotes would really help me feel better. Not sure though if they will even come back, they pretty well had this doe stripped. Was not really much left but the head and neck and looked like the side she was laying on might have not been gotten to too bad yet. What do you guys think, take a break or try to bust some coyotes? dogdoc
Re: what to do? I usually wait until after season before I start busting some yotes. I bet the deer will be back in the plot in no time at all. good luck todd
