christsavedme
Well just a little something that I wanted to try. Some of you may remember awhile back I was posting devotions pretty often in the main devotion room. Well I decided to start my own little place here and hope that everyone will get something out of it! I try to spend time daily in God's word and thought I would start sharing that with everyone. Hope it blesses each and everyone of you! In His Grip, Josh aka Christsavedme

christsavedme
Re: Christsavedme\'s Daily Devotions! "Flee from youthful passions, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart." 2 Timothy 2:22 A life of righteousness is lived in accordance with God's commandments. A righteous man strives to be faithful, honest, generous, disciplined, loving, kind, humble, and grateful, to name only a few of the more obvious qualities which are described in God's Word. If we seek to follow the steps of Jesus, we must seek to live according to His teachings. In short, we must, to the best of our abilities, live according to the principles contained in the Holy Bible. When we do, we become powerful examples to our families and friends of the blessings that God bestows upon righteous men. Wow, what a message! You know I sit back and think about what kind of example I am to those around me......my family included, and I become ashamed. I know that there are more times in my daily life that I don't "follow the steps of Jesus" and "seek to live according to His teachings," than the times I apply those things. But you know what. He still loves me. What grace He has....What love! Our God is so amazing! It just blows me away to know that there is someone out there that loves me that much and you know what.....it didn't cost me anything! NOTHING! His grace is enough! Todays Prayer: Dear Lord, This world is filled with so many temptations, distractions, and frustrations. When I turn my thoughts away from You and Your Word, I suffer. But when I turn my thoughts, my faith, and my prayers to You, I am safe. Direct my path, Father, and let me discover Your will for me today and every day that I live. AMEN

christsavedme
Re: Christsavedme\'s Daily Devotions! "Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your real life- even though invisible to spectators- is with Christ in God. He is your life." Colossians 3:3 MSG Christ's love is perfect and steadfast. Even though we are fallible, and wayward, the Good Shepherd cares for us still. What does the love of Christ mean to His believers? It changes everything. Even though we have fallen short of the Father's commandments, Christ loves us with a power and depth that is beyond our understanding. And, as we accept Christ's love and walk in Christ's footsteps, our lives bear a testimony to His power and to His grace. Yes, Christ's love changes everything; may we invite Him into our hearts so it can then change everything in us. "There is not a single thing that Jesus cannot change, control, and conquer because He is the living Lord." Franklin Graham I tell you one thing....Mr. Graham kindof sums it up in a nut shell...wouldn't you say! I am so glad to know that My God loves me even when I am fallible and wayward. He cares for me no matter what. Now if that doesn't bring peace into your heart I don't know what will. Just knowing that no matter how bad you mess up.....He still loves you and me! God bless you all! Today's Prayer: Dear Jesus, my life has been changed forever by Your love and sacrifice. Today I will praise You, I will honor You, and I will walk with You. Amen
christsavedme
Re: Christsavedme\'s Daily Devotions! Okay I know that technically I have already posted a devotion for today, but since I will be at the firehouse tomorrow thought I would go ahead and post one for tomorrow! "But He said to them, "Why are you fearful, you of little faith?" Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea. And there was a great calm." Matthew 8:26 Holman CSB Sometimes, like Jesus' disciples, we feel threatened by the storms of life. During these moments, when our hearts are flooded with uncertainty, we must remember that God is not simply near; He is here. Have you ever felt your faith in God slipping away? If so, you are in good company. Even the most faithful Christians are, at times, beset by occasional bouts of discouragement and doubt. But even when you feel far removed from God, God never leaves your side. He is always with you, always willing to calm the storms of life. When you sincerely seek His presence-and when you genuinely seek to establish a deeper, more meaningful relationship with His Son-God will calm your fears, answer your prayers, and restore you soul. Isn't that an amazing concept.....to know that no matter the uncertainty of our hearts God is always near....HE IS HERE! No matter how far away WE feel He is always right there beside us ready to take over....We just have to hand him the reins and let Him lead the way! Now ain't that something to shout about! As the song says.....HIS GRACE IS ENOUGH FOR ME! May God bless all of you! Today's Prayer: Dear God, sometimes this world can be a puzzling place, filled with uncertainty and doubt. When I am unsure of my next step, keep me mindful that You are always near and that You can overcome any challange. With Your love and Your power, Father, I can live courageously adn faithfully everyday. Amen Just wanted to add on here that the devotions so far have been taken from " 365 Daily Devotions For A Righteous Man." Hope you all are enjoying! God Bless! christsavedme
Re: Christsavedme\'s Daily Devotions! "Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another." Proverbs 27:17 Holman CSB A loving family is a treasure from God; so is a trustworthy friend. If you are a member of a close knit, supportive family, offer a word of thanks to your Creator. And if you have a close circle of trustworthy friends, consider yourself richly blessed. Today, let us praise God for our family and for our friends. God has placed these people along our paths. Let us love them and care for them. And, let us give thanks to the Father for all the people that enrich our lives. These people are, in a very real sense, gifts from God; we should treat them as such. Now this one really speaks to me about the RT Forums.....what a circle of friends I have come to know and love here. What a gift from God! I thank Him daily for giving me a place like this. May God bless each and everyone of you! "God often keeps us on the path by guiding us through the counsel of friends and trusted spiritual advisors." Bill Hybels Todays Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for my friends and family. Let me be a trustworthy friend to all, and let my love for You be reflected in my genuine love for them. AMEN! christsavedme
Re: Christsavedme\'s Daily Devotions! "And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone in debt to us." Luke 11:4 NKJV God's power to forgive, like His love, is infinite. Despite you shortcomings, despite your sins, God offers you immediate forgiveness and eternal life when you accept Christ as your Savior. As a believer who is the recipient of God's forgiveness, how should you behave towards others? Should you forgive them (just as God has forgiven you), or should you remain embittered and resentful? The answer, of course, is found in God's Word: you are instructed to forgive others. When you do, you also free yourself from a prison of your own making. Now this one really hits home with me. That is why I chose it for today. I know as well as anyone that it is tough to forgive freely all those who wrong us. But then I sit back and look at what God has done for me and how He loves me, NO MATTER WHAT I DO! That says alot. "It is said that forgiveness is the fragrance the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it. If so, could there be a fragrance as sweet in all the Bible as that of Jesus washing the feet of the very one whose heel was raised against Him?" Charles Swindoll Today's Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, Today Father I just lay it all at you feet. All those who wrong me and led me to hold grudges, Father just help me to forgive them freely. Father help me to be more like You. Help me to free myself from a prison of my own making!

christsavedme
Re: Christsavedme\'s Daily Devotions! "In all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility.... " Titus 2:7 NKJV It has been said that character is what we are when nobody is watching. How true. When we do things that we know aren't right, we try to hide them from our families and friends. But even then, God is watching. If you sincerely wish to walk with God, you must seek, to the best of your abilities, to follow His commandments. When you do, your character will take care of itself....and you won't need to look over your shoulder to see who, besides God is watching. You know everyday as I sit and type these I find God reaching into my own life to show me my shortcomings. And truly that is something that I find amazing. God knows so well what is weighing on our hearts daily and speaks to us in so many ways.....the only problem is are we listening. I know today I have a heavy burden on my heart that is a deep personal battle, but today is the start of breaking that burden.....today I turn to God for true peace. Hope this one touches all of you the way it has me! God bless! "Character is both developed and revealed by tests, and all of life is a test." Rick Warren Today's Prayer: Lord, You are my Father in heaven. You search my heart and know me far better than I know myself. May I be Your worthy servant, and may I live according to Your commandments. Let me be a person of integrity, Lord, and let my words and deeds be a testimony to You, today and always. christsavedme
Re: Christsavedme\'s Daily Devotions! "They won't be afraid of bad news; their hearts are steady because they trust the Lord." Psalm 112:7 NCV If God is good, and if He made the world, why do bad things happen? Part of that question is easy to answer, and part of it isn't. Let's get to the easy part first: Sometimes, bad things happen because people disobey God's commandments and invite sadness and heartache into God's beautiful world. But on other occasions, bad things happen and it's nobody's fault. So who is to blame? Sometimes, nobody is to blame. Sometimes, things just happen and we simply cannot know why. Thankfully, all our questions will be answered....some day. The Bible promises that in heaven we will all understand all the reasons behind God's plans. But until then, we must simply trust that God is good, and that, in the end, He will make things right. Like I always say.....He is in control and always knows. It doesn't matter if I know why, if I understand why, He knows and is in control. Man the list of questions I have for Him when I one day meet Him face to face? LOL This is one of the issues that I have struggled with throughout my walk with Christ. But something changed over the last year. My grandmother was diagnosed with small cell lung CA in June of 2006 and lost her battle to it on Hallaween night. Thing is she chose not to fight it and was at total peace with the fact that she was dying. She never ask "WHY?" She trusted the Lord and stood strong in her faith till the end. It was through all this that I realized I don't have to know all the answers now.....I just have to trust Him and love Him the way He wants me too. He will take care of the rest. God bless! Today's Prayer: Lord, give me courage in every circumstance and in every stage of life. Give me the wisdom, Father, to place my hope and my trust in Your perfect plan and Your boundless love. Amen

christsavedme
Re: Christsavedme\'s Daily Devotions! I will be leaving early in the AM headed out of town so I thought I would go ahead and post a devotion for tomorrow. Hope ya'll have a safe weekend and I'll see ya on Sunday. God Bless! The protection of praise by John Fischer “If you search for good, you will find favor; but if you search for evil, it will find you!” (Proverbs 11:27 NLT) Praise is a valuable weapon against the enemy. War cries, frontal assaults, or special words of exorcism can’t drive back the forces of evil. Neither can the brandishing of the sword or the charge of the brigade. What keeps the powers of darkness at bay is the simple and true praise of the Savior from a heart set free. Christians are engaged in a battle, but going on the warpath won’t win this fight. It can even make matters worse. Christians can easily get caught up searching for evil in the world and trying to root it out, but by focusing on evil so much we bring the evil right to us. The best way to go after the enemy is with Christ on our minds and praise for him in our hearts. We do this unconsciously all the time. We sing a little song of praise as we go about our tasks, and unseen demons rush for cover. There are some things we are better off not knowing about. Like the complicated etchings of the classical German painter Albrecht Durer that depict hosts of angelic beings and demons warring high in the sky over peaceful, tranquil landscapes, we have little knowledge of what is really going on at any given time in the heavenly realms around us. But we need not be conscious of this. We do not require sentries on the watch every hour, fearing attack. We do not have to check behind every door. It's better if we don’t. (“If you search for evil, it will find you!”) We need only be in the presence and the praise of Jesus. The enemy flees at the mere sound of his name. Jesus is our constant protection. He is our most valuable possession. The best protection against evil is a heart bent toward the good – seeking God in all things. Light does not fight with darkness. There is no wrestling match necessary. Light banishes darkness. They cannot occupy the same place at the same time.

christsavedme
Re: Christsavedme\'s Daily Devotions! How low can you go? by John Fischer If you have ever wondered how far God would go to show his love, look in the mirror and wonder no more. We need not look any further than ourselves to find the most shocking and amazing displays of God's grace. If we think otherwise, it is only because we have not seen ourselves as we truly are. It has been said and sung many times:"There but for the grace of God go I." At first this sounds grateful, but such sentiment masks a dangerous pride. It is actually not unlike the statement of a religious leader in Jesus' day as he looked upon a sinner on his knees who was crying out for God's mercy. "I thank you, God," said the Pharisee, "that I am not a sinner like everyone else, especially like that tax collector over there." (Luke 18:11 NLT) It is a view that focuses on someone else's misfortune. Someone else is worse than I am. It is much better to be thinking and praying, "Here, because of the grace of God and for no other reason, am I." I am the only person I truly know about when it comes to sin. I am the authority on the subject. The Pharisee hasn"t a clue about the sinner- who he is or what he has done. He has no point of reference to judge the man's life but from his own inflated view of himself. If he had even the slightest clue about his own sin, he would realize he doesn't have any business making the assumption that the sinner is any worse than he is. The only prayer any of us can pray on the subject of sin is:"Lord, have mercy on me, a sinner." This is the one prayer that sends heaven scurrying. It is best to steer completely clear of the comparison game. Any attempt to better ourselves at the mercy of someone else's failure will always bring a twisted view of us and others. The immensity of God's mercy is not displayed in what he did for the world, or for someone else. It is not displayed in someone else's story about how low they were before Christ picked them up (of course, never as low as we would ever go- heaven forbid). Nor is it discovered through some theological understanding or study of the many nuances of his grace. No, the immensity of God's mercy is revealed finally- and only- in the incredible realization that, lo and behold, it found out the worst of the lot. God's mercy looked down from heaven and found out me!
