wtnhunt
Re: A decent SLR? Been really happy with my minolta maxxum 5D, but I already had some lenses from my old maxxum 7000. Dont know why minolta quit making the 5D, but think the 7D is still available and can be found in that price range now. The new sony line is made by konica minolta I believe and they have a 10.2 mp DSLR camera in the $600 price range. Would not overlook those cameras. Of course Nikon and Canon both make great cams too.
PAstringking
Re: A decent SLR? go to a photography shop that sells used SLR's and you can find great deals on digital or 35mm. my film camera is a Canon EOS Elan IIe. it is an amazing camera and you can pick one up now for really cheap. i recomend any canon or nikon film camera. as far as digital SLR goes i shoot both a Canon D30 and 10D. Both are amazing camera with great qualitys for a beginner or a pro. both of these can be found used for cheap too. and by the way....you are going to LOVE Yellowstone. everytime i go i dont want to leave. its like heaven on earth!! Good Luck with the trip

Buckslayer
Re: A decent SLR? Here is another great resource: www.stevesdigicams.com I'd personally go digital - but if you want to save some change a lot of film models extend lower in price and are still great cameras!
