I will be going down there on Saturday to look around ... and I will be working in one of the booths on Sunday more then likely ... if you want to meet up with me pm me and I will give you my cell phone number ...

Is anyone bringing in a deer head to get scored? ... I am curious to see the biggest this year ...

Re: Iowa Deer Classic

I just decided to after reading this post. I went to map quest and found that it was only 6 1/2 hr drive. So my girlfriend and I are going. She didnt even have to think twice when I told her Michael was going to be there. Should be a blast. Have never been to anything like this. Any neccessities that I should bring?

Re: Iowa Deer Classic

OK Just bringing this one back from the depths.

I was originally planning on going Saturday but just found out that I have an NWTF banquet to go to instead. Sundays out too. Which really stinks because Al was hoping to go with me and so it kind ruins that for him - sorry buddy. frown.gif

So the plan is that me and the kids will go up on Friday. Hoping to get there a little early and be one of the first ones in. Hoping to catch some seminars and get some pics and autographs with the "huntin celebs" and my girls. Should be a good time. Anyone else going to be around there on Friday, I've got Steve's # so I'll be calling him.

Also does anyone know about parking costs? The website said there are some public parking lots within 2 blocks that are free or like $1 - it looks like there is parking right there at the Hyvee center does anyone know what the cost is?

Thanks

Bowtech will be taking me Friday, as Saturday I have our daughters JDRF Walk (of course he will still be there for Saturday/Sunday). With both events parking maybe an issue.

The overflow parking that you mentioned is actually parking for downtown businesses...which will be utalizing Friday until their workers go home (6 p.m.). The JDRF walk is huge in downtown and most of these lots will be used on Saturday morning until 1-2 p.m.

Your best bet would be to park at the event center for $6 or park in the public garage parking for roughly $5 and walk to the event center via the skywalk (however if this is your plan for Saturday watch out for the JDRF walkers).
