What do you all do for a living? When you aren't on RT or hunting that is grin.gif Me...well I'm head of custodial in a girls dorm on campus while the regular head is recoverying from surgery. I basically supervise around 50 student workers, maintain the building (cleaning, minor repairs like lights). I've been doing this off and on as they just email me when they need me to come in. And I'm working on finding a summer job or some type of employment more outdoor rec. related.. How about you?

Re: So ladies...

I'm a freelancer and do alot of volunteer work most the time. Paying projects come and go on no set schedule for me, but since I'm on disability that doesn't much matter to me when the paying projects come and go, I'm just happy to be active with my brain in someway and not letting it rot out of my head like some individuals I know do. I do anything from web design, graphic design, game testing, game development, server management, networking, computer repair and support, programming, etc. Basically things dealing with computers or the internet. I also work on a dirt track racing team off and on depending on what jobs are available on it.

Wow HuntnMa, that sounds like an awesome job! I think I'd love something like that. What did you have to study to get a job like that. My outdoor ed. major had classes like Nat. Resource Management and I took Conservation Bio...probably have to get some wildlife biology degree huh? Pretty cool job I'd say you have grin.gif

Re: So ladies...

I am a Registered Nurse. I work in a Nursing Home as the Staff Development Coordinator. I do various things like New hire orientation, employee health, maintaining nures and nurse aide licensure, I teach CPR classes. I also make sure that all nursing staff have enough education & training hours each year, CEU's, i oversee workmans comp, Safety officer for the facility, and lots of other stuff that my Director of Nursing Services decides to tell me to do. I also monitor the floor staff to ensure that they are taking care of our residents and take appropriate action when necessary. I currently have a job offer to be the Director of Nursing at another facility. Will mean more money, but also alot more responsibilities.

BTW, HuntnMa, you have an awesome job.

nope, nothing like that.....but if you want to get paid the big bucks, i would continue to take the classes....Resource Managemnt is a great one to take...Land Management....but to be honest with you, i got my job because i was going to volunteer and my old boss from DEP hired me, not having a lick of experience, he taught me everything, he says "I'm his shining star"....i catch on real easy and once you show me, you usually don't have to again, then i take what he would teach me and i'd try to perfect it....working there, i got hired pt , which eventually grew from there smile.gif I have to tell ya, one of the biggest complaints i've heard through the years working for both agencies is that the newbies are coming right out of college and are book smart, but they don't have a clue about working in the field...so if you can find somewhere around ya that will get you in the field as well into the books, you'll be awesome.......heres what they i could find for what ya may need...

Re: So ladies...

I changed career paths at my company last year. I went from Benefit Consultant (Health & Life) to being a Administrative Assistant to 4 of our top Compliance Officers in the company. The work is challenging, but the schedule is flexible so I can spend plenty of time with my children and staying active with my volunteering.
