hunterDWL
Well called the sporting goods store today trying to find out were my kimber super america is at. Its been 8 weeks the guy told me it would take 2 to 6 weeks. He said he called the manufacture and was told the wood they were using at the time was not up to specs for the super america. So there just making 84 out of it but he would send one soon as they got some new wood. The guy told me at the sporting goods store if i wanted to come in and get my money i could. I paid for two in full the 84 he had when i was there and the super he had to order. He said he did not carry them beacuse of the cost hard to sell. So what do you think? Should i belive him? Never bought guns here before the dealer i buy from dosent carry kimber but the store has a good rep and been in busines for years
LETMGROW
Re: waiting on my kimber If he offered to give you your money back, I'd say he was reputable. Perhaps you could E-Mail kimber to ask about the order. If they in fact are waiting for better wood my hat is off to them. Sounds like the company is meeting a certain standard. If they have no knowledge of the order, I'd ask for my money back. Let us know what happens though. I am currently looking into a Kimber myself. AJ
Re: waiting on my kimber Yep, I agree with Letmgrow. I would do some homework and contact Kimber to find out the delivery time for a 84 Super in your choice of chamberings. If they say they are ready to ship, get your $ back and find a new dealer. Get a contct number for them and call while you are at the gunshop. Kimber does haev delivery problems occasionally. I was looking into one of their handguns a few years ago and my dealer said he could not get them in. He tried on different occasions to get them and it never happened. He was a stocking dealer for them. So he may be on the up and up.

doubleA
Re: waiting on my kimber HunterDWL........I feel your pain, waiting for rifle can be hard to do. I ordered a rifle from Cooper several months ago and I await the phone call almost everyday saying it's ready. I did one up you though, I sent my own blank for them to use. Good luck with your Kimbers, I have an 8400 with awesome wood and it shoots as well as it looks. Here's the chunk of wood I sent Cooper

LETMGROW
Re: waiting on my kimber Thanks. This renews my interest in the Kimber company. If they are this concious about the wood, I have to believe the rest of the gun will measure up as well.
TexasDeerHunter
Re: waiting on my kimber I am glad to see that, so many companies these days could care less. I don't own any Kimbers , but a buddy of mine has Kimber Longmaster in .308 and it is a good looking and feeling rifle. He said it shoots well too.
