too_pointer
If I haven't welcomed you to the forums yet, Welcome bud !! Every gun can certainly be different as to how much cleaning you have to do to get good accuracy and easy loading. Is your accuracy still staying good after 10-12 shots? I think most of us will agree that 777 is cleaner than pyrodex. I don't use a ball for a bullet, at least for alot of years.I use powerbelts for the bullet and just seat them firm on the powder. I also mark my ramrod, so I know when I hit the mark, the bullet should be on top of the powder. I hope those who are still using balls in here will voice their opinions, ( watch it guys LOL ). With 777 in my TC Encore, I swab after every 3 shots, that works with my muzzleloader, it can change for every one.! too_pointer
ZooBear
Re: swabbing between shots I love 777 fffg for my sidelock!! You should swab with a wet patch between shots and just seat the ball, pounding it down is just for TV.
wtnhunt
Re: swabbing between shots Welcome to the forums. I do run a spit patch between shots when target practicing most of the time. When hunting however I have forgotten to swab after a shot on a deer and just reloaded. Dont think between just a few shots it will make too much difference.
