Re: New form photo...let me know what you think

Looking at the position of the trigger, it looks like you'd only be able to get the tip of your finger over it. To help keep from developing the habit of "punching" the trigger, you might try to shorten it up to where you can "drape" your finger over the trigger. If you can get it to where your middle knuckle is over the trigger, that would help out a lot.

A high shoulder isn't all that bad if you are aiming at a downward angle. The best way to shoot downward or upward is to bend at the waist and keep your shoulders in line with the target.

Also, an easy way to keep a loose grip is to let the grip rest between your thumb and index finger. you shouldn't have to grab the bow with all five flingers.

It might be me but I thought it looked like the cams were not in time. Doesn't look like the bottom one has broken over quite as far.Could be the way the bow is canted or the shadow on the bottom cam. Just doesn't look the same to me, anybody else notice this ? Other than that I agree maybe a little looser grip. I shoot with my hand open, don't grip the bow. I have to have a wrist sling or I would drop my bow.

I agree with muggs, in keeping your left arm slightly bent. Anyone else think she might raise her left arm a bit to make a straight line with her right arm? It looks good other wise. Cerculation in her hand is definatly cut off. Not a good thing, you might punch the trigger due to lose of sensation in your fingers.

Sweet Bow and form looks good. How do you like the bemans?

[/ QUOTE ]

I really like the Beman arrows. They hold up well and they haven't worn down the coating on my Nap rest very much, i think because they have that finish on them. andy has some plain, I think Gold Tip, arrowsand they really wear down the coating on the prongs on his Nap rest.

This is just what my opinion is (so you may not want to listen grin.gif)

There are certain things that I can see but it is what you are comfortable with.

1. Bow shoulder is to high. relax your bow arm

2. If you look at your pic you can see you are leaning back a little, this is due to draw being a tad to long.

3. Like previously stated you release elbow can be higher than it is.

4. Readjust your release so that you are using the 2nd pad of your finger for the release and not the tip of your finger. ( this will also help with your draw length)

It all just depends on what you feel comfortable with and what kind of shooting you plan on doing. I understand that some like the way they are shooting and that they dont need to change a thing because of this. However when things are set correctly and your form is good then your shooting starts to get better and better. This is once again just my personal opinion.

Also it looks like her cam is out of time due to her draw length. The Hoyt Rintec has a large range of draw adjustment and unless she is shooting off the upper half of the draw then the cams will be in this position

Re: New form photo...let me know what you think

have to agree with Ultratec1 on this also Ruth. when you take a picture of your shooting form, aim at a imanginary target at shoulder height. this gets us to look at what we call classic T form.

i think if you were aiming at a shoulder height target your bow arm wouldnt look that bad.

i totally agree with the release in your hand. shorten it up until you can get the second pad of your index finger on the trigger like ultratec1 said.

having just a little finger on the trigger mill make you punch this type of release. once you shorten your release so that it fits your index finger right, i think these other slight form flaws will go away.

believe me when i say ultratec1 is one of the best index finger shooters as an ametuer i know. he has notched a couple of big time wins this year and he shoots a index finger release.

make a few corrections and re post some new pics.

Shoot Strong

Tony
