rad_112176
I wanted to try and get into yote hunting in Indiana and was wondering if anyone knew what licences i needed. The regulation book says you have to have a trapping license when setting traps, but does not really say anywhere on it what licenses i have to have to shoot yotes. Thanks for any help. rad_112176
Re: Coyote hunting in Indiana.... I have been hunting with a couple of people for yotes on mornings but never at dark. Any special things i need to know about hunting at dark? Do you do any calling?
HoosierDaddy28
Re: Coyote hunting in Indiana.... Hunt coyotes in the morning and evening is best. If you live in an area where they are heavily run with dogs it will be very hard to call them in this time of year unless we get a very cold snap with snow. This time of year they are pretty wary. I don't have a lot of luck brining yotes in at night. Most likely you will call in some grey fox.
Guest HunterMiller
Re: Coyote hunting in Indiana.... For night hunting you still use calls but many people use electronic calls. And your light needs a red lense or filter on it. Red light does not disturb game animals. The only license you need is the hunting license - $17. Coyote season ends March 15 and fox goes out Febuary 28. Legal hunting hours end at noon of the last day for furbearers. No limit on fox or coyote. The reason I mention fox is because depending on were you are located you may accidentally call up a fox. A good website to go get predator hunting tips is - Midwest Predator Hunters - it was started by a guy in Corydon, IN. If you have questions I use the same name on there as on here.
