okbowman
Re: We were too quick to judge Vick.... I guess we were wrong..........this time!! If you don't do stupid stuff all the time, then people aren't so quick to judge you. When you have a pattern of stupid, that's what people come to expect from you. Therefore, when something happens people automatically think the worst!!!!!
buckbuster11
Re: We were too quick to judge Vick.... Is it just me or does that article make no sense? It starts out saying Vick "was not carrying marijuana or another illegal substance at the Miami airport and will be exonerated," then it says..... "Miami police had said it could take weeks to decide whether charges would be filed against Vick, a three-time Pro-Bowler. As of Monday, investigators were awaiting results of a crime lab analysis of the bottle" and....................... ""there's no official word" on the analysis or the filing of any charges." Ohiobucks
Re: We were too quick to judge Vick.... [ QUOTE ] Sources: Vick will be exonerated for Miami incidentESPN.com news services Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was not carrying marijuana or another illegal substance at the Miami airport and will be exonerated, league sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen on Sunday. On Wednesday, Vick surrendered a water bottle to security at Miami International Airport that authorities believed smelled like marijuana and contained a substance in a hidden compartment. Vick was not arrested and was allowed to board his flight to Atlanta. When reached by The Associated Press on Sunday, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello wouldn't comment on the report. Miami police had said it could take weeks to decide whether charges would be filed against Vick, a three-time Pro-Bowler. As of Monday, investigators were awaiting results of a crime lab analysis of the bottle, which appeared to contain only water but also had a hidden compartment that contained a "small amount of dark particulate" and an odor consistent with marijuana, according to a police report. Miami-Dade County police Detective Alvaro Zabaleta said Monday "there's no official word" on the analysis or the filing of any charges. A spokesman for State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle said investigators had not made a recommendation on whether to prosecute. "It has not reached us," spokesman Ed Griffith said. A Falcons team source confirmed to Mortensen that the team expects to hear something formal by Monday. The Associated Press contributed to this report. [/ QUOTE ] I agree, it sounds fishy to me. Even if mary-jane wasn't in the secret compartment in the water bottle, who walks around with something like that? Why would you have a secret compartment in a water bottle in the first place? Also, nothing is official yet, only info that "league sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen on Sunday."

Guest stellfox
Re: We were too quick to judge Vick.... I agree. he shouldn't have the bottle in the first place. he put his self in that position and should be punished for that by the Falcons. he is employed by the Falcons. Take your own work for instance. If you were caught, basically with paraphanalia, i am certain there would be reprucussions and possibly a fireing. VABuckSlayer
Re: We were too quick to judge Vick.... My understanding is that nobody knows where the bottle IS now. Mysteriously disappeared. I think the whole thing is being swept under the rug if you ask me. I guess we'll all forget it even happened in a couple weeks. snapper
Re: We were too quick to judge Vick.... Ok...whats the purpose of a "secret" compartment in a water bottle? Maybe I'm missing something...but all my water bottles hold water, no need for a secret compartment UNLESS I was trying to hide something thats more than likely illegal. As for Truex getting arrested....not too many folks here can say they haven't urinated outdoor before...sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. With that said...willing to bet MANY folks here can say they HAVEN'T been stopped at an airport with a water bottle (which if you need reminded, isn't allowed on a plane anyways) that has a secret compartment! [/ QUOTE ] If there were secret compartments in the nail clippers or lighters...LOL...yeah I'd think they were up to no good! I also don't think what Truex did was right and tell kids its ok to break the law. I do think that doing or selling drugs is alot worse than breaking the speed limit or urnating in public. Not saying Vick is guilty of using or selling drugs...I wasn't there and don't know what (if anything) was in the bottle. I just think some of these folks have enough $ that things can be kept quiet. If it looks like a fish, feels like a fish and smells like a fish...its prob. a fish! BTW, still haven't answered my question...whats the purpose of a secret compartment in a water bottle?
