woodsman2230
Re: locator calls I use an owl, crow, and a coyote. I use an owl in the evening to roost and sometimes a coyote, and i use the crow call during the daylight hours.

HuntnMa
Re: locator calls [ QUOTE ] Owl call at first light and Crow call later in the morning. [/ QUOTE ] see, that is what i always thought until a couple of years ago....maybe it was last year, no it was 2 yrs. ago,anyway....i was hunting, still dark, i'd do a hoot, nothing, the crows would start making noises and the gobblers would sound off...this happened everytime i hunted there....it went against everything i had been taught...i just don't know.....i think you should try the owl first, then if nothing happens maybe try a crow call.... i know a lil ol' man that uses a hog squealer, that really worked well.....
