ArtV22
Hello new user here been on this sight many times but have never registered till now.Ihave shot Matthews for about 12 years now and I purchased a new SwitchbackXT. I was sighting it in, shot about 30 arrows and I happened to notice the cable down by the cam had wore thru the servicing and the cable looked pinched.Took it to my pro shop and they said it was normal wear and it was not covered under warranty. Also emailed Matthews zebra strings and they said it was normal. Looked at two others at league last night one had shot about 60 arrows showed some wear the other one had shot about 1000 arrows didn't show much wear at all. Anyone else having trouble like this. Thanks for any help.
Adjam5
Re: Mathews Shooters Welcome to the forums. You'll like it here. I have a Outback with the same string on it since I bought it back in '03. It will be changed for this season coming no doubt, but...YES. I think your string is wearing a BIT premature. Strange you got NO help from your dealer
tedicast
Re: Mathews Shooters This has been an all too common problem on the Switchback, and the XT. I shot an Outback for 2 years with no problem. I have heard of some people just having that area reserved, and then using a product, that I believe is called Liquid lock, by Brownell, I think. Have also heard of people having great luck with aftermarket strings. My bro had Vapor Trails on his with no seperation whatso ever
Guest realtrhunter
Re: Mathews Shooters I am also shooting an outback from '03, and have had no problems. I just rechecked it and it still looks like new, except for the dirt on it. I would call mathew's back and complain about customer service, usually gets someone to do something. I would also find a new dealer.
ScottyLuck
Re: Mathews Shooters 30 arrows in NOT normal wear and SHOULD be covered under warranty! Don't settle on this one! Either get a WARRANTIED new cable and use the Liquid Lok; have your shop re-serve your cable with a smaller dia serving or buy an aftermarket set like the Vapor Trails. hutchies
Re: Mathews Shooters Scotty is dead on here. That should be under warranty. If they don't put a set of aftermarket strings on.
Guest Finn
Re: Mathews Shooters I had a problem with that cable....Mathews took care of it right away with a new one....no problems since.
dosse
Re: Mathews Shooters I have been shooting a matthews z-max for years and am just now having to change the string though i probably could have done it last year. If 30 arrows through the bow has caused that kind of ware then i believe something is most definitely wrong and should be replaced under warrenty
maddhunter
Re: Mathews Shooters Welcome !!!!!!!!!!! How about some pics of the damage?????? The cable on my SB is 3yrs old and looks like it has been rubbing on th cam but it isn't. It is just a little thicker at that point. And the serving on my cable doesn't come out past the cam like the newer ones.
