unioncountyslayer
Do any of you watch the State of the Union Addresses by the President and then actually check throughout the year/s to see if anything they said or promised has been carried through? I'll be honest and say that I do watch, but do little to see if anything is actually carried out, unless it's about war.

wtnhunt
Re: State of the Union Question Caught some of the highlights of it on the news, but did not sit through and watch it. The president wants to do some things that obviously will be met with opposition, no great surprise there. Would be nice to see his healthcare deduction for people who buy their insurance outright go through, but afraid the dems will fight that too. oldksnarc
Re: State of the Union Question Did watch it. He called for action on a lot of domestic issues. But, just like his previous call for social security reform, they will all get bogged down by the politics. I thought it was a good speech. Fox News conducted a poll afterward and the last I saw it was 85% voting "excellent."
unioncountyslayer
Re: State of the Union Question I agree it was a good speech, but my question was more of a generalization of follow up on such speaches, not just Bush or even last night for that matter. But, just like his previous call for a change to the immigration policy, social security reform, and the other issues, every one will continue to get bogged down by politics and the politicians. And, like previuosly, it'll be his fault.
