Leaf river-cannot believe it

Looks like my leaf river after thousands of pics and going on 3 years of time in the field has gone and taken a dump on me. It started acting up a little with not flashing occasionally having black screens on some pics from time to time in the past couple weeks and now the flash has quit working all together. Have tried everything I can think of short of taking it apart to see what is going on with it.

Sent a message to vibrashine this morning, hopefully they will have something good to tell me.

The camera is well out of warranty, their customer service was good for me once before, hopefully they will be able to fix this without it costing me much.

Re: Leaf river-cannot believe it

It is the dc2bu. This camera has been out in the field since I got it with the exception of about a week where it was sent in for the wires through the door.

Guess maybe the camera is not going to last forever like I was beginning to think it might.

did you like it overall??

Yes, the camera had been great really. Only issue I ever really had before was with the wires through the door getting a bear spot on the insulation. Vibrashine acknowledged the problem and took care of it very quickly, getting my camera back to me within a week of me sending it out.

Re: Leaf river-cannot believe it-update

Got a message back from leaf river this morning saying to give them a call. Called a while ago, and they said ship it to them and they will call to let me know how much it will run me to fix it, if all that is wrong is the flash module it would be about $20.

Guess that is not bad considering the camera is well out of warranty.

Re: Leaf river-cannot believe it-update

William--I sent in my very original camera b/c of the wires splitting at the door. It was way out of warranty. They fixed the wires and completely took the camera apart and rewired the batteries and clean the camera for me---they didn't charge me a thing for it. However I'm sure they would have charged me if they would have had to replace anything.

Re: Leaf river-cannot believe it-update

Yeah Todd, think if it only runs me $20 plus the shipping I will be pretty happy. After all this camera has been out for a a pretty good while in the elements and been running pretty well non stop.

Once I get it fixed and get it back I might consider selling it to build a couple more homebrews. Would be kind of nice to have all my cams using the memory stick media.
