AaronS
I plan to buy a new ML before this coming season, and the Savage smokeless is one I'm considering. Does anyone know if this gun is offered with a thumbhole stock from the factory? I dont' want to plunk down the money to buy, then have to spend even more to buy an aftermarket stock. AJ
Re: Savage 10ML II with thumbhole stock? From what I hear, they are supposed to have a New for 2007, the 10ML-II SS / Laminated Thumbhole Edition. You will like the gun a lot. Be sure to check out Doug's Savage ML Message Board. There, you will find the most imformation about the Savage Muzzleloader including custom versions, latest greatest loading data, custom tools and tweaks to the gun. I am thinking about a custom .45 caliber smokeless ML. I plan to do away with sabots and shoot .45 caliber bullets seated in the grooves. Guest wasp
Re: Savage 10ML II with thumbhole stock? Does anybody know what kind of scope comes with the savage in the package deal. The gun has no iron sights. Would it be better to get the one with iron sights and then add the scope? Was just wondering Thanks Wasp
AJ
Re: Savage 10ML II with thumbhole stock? It all depends on what junk they get a deal on. It's not a good quality scope. Usually a cheap Bushnell or Simmons. I bought the gun with sights and removed them when I added the scope. If you plan on hunting a state that does not allow the use of optical sights, it would be better to get one that is offered with open sights.
