Tom2008
Is there a special fertilizer you use on food plots? I plan on making a food plot on my property this spring with Whitetail Insitute's Imperial No Plow seed blend. The plot is going to be something like 50 yards by 50 yards for the total area. LETMGROW
Re: Fertilizer Size doesn't matter! Soil test, soil test, soil test! Take your soil test sample to your cooperative extension, have it analyized, and they will give you the recommended fertilizer requirements for the type seed you want to plant. Cost: $ 10 or slightly more. Savings? BIG!
dogdoc
Re: Fertilizer when you do your soil test be sure to advise them the seeds you will be planting--that will determine what fertilizer will work best for both the seed and the soil. Different plants have different needs.
QDMAworks4me
Re: Fertilizer My soil test saved me a lot of money last year, after telling the lab that tested my soil what I wanted to plant they told me my PH was good which meant I did not have to lime and I bought 250 dollars worth of fertilizer for 5 acres, MUCH less than what I had estimated before my soil sample!!
