Guest Clay008
Where is your favorite gun range and why? My favorite range is in the National Forest about 5 miles from Virginia Tech. There is a skeet range and a rifle/pistol range. It is unsupervised and free plus it is built into the side of a mountain so, the view is great. It is nice to able to see what everyone else is shooting and have the time to talk to them about their weapons.
HarvDog
Re: Gun Range One of thee days, I need to join you down there. I haven't been to alot od ranges (besides the Marine Corps ones) but my favorite would have to be that secret spot near Watson's hill. The lanes and targets weren't the best but the prepare table was awesome (my truck ) and you can't beat the cost (ZERO)! Besides, we really had alot of fun that day!!! AJ
Re: Gun Range There is a decent range near Summerduck HarvDog. Its on CF Phelps WMA and its free but its only open certain months of the year. Now, my favorite range is the Butterfield Range just west of Las Cruces, NM. It has target butts out to 1000 yards, dedicated handgun ranges, SASS shoots, and some silhouettes. Best of all its free. But out here, you can go out in the desert and bang away. We just re-did all the benches at our rifle range this year. Pine Tree Rifle Club
Guest Clay008
Re: Gun Range Is that a concrete pad where the stations are? Either way that is a great looking range.
Strut10
Re: Gun Range I've got my portable bench set up 50 yards off my front porch. I can shoot to 500m from there. We also have a permanent bench over on the Strut10 Ranch with 300m distance. I shoot trap at several local clubs from 5-15 minutes away. If i shot from my house I would go to jail and have my guns taken away. I need to move to the country!
Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Gun Range I like the 150 acres behind my neighbor's house for convenience. We shoot off of his back porch into the back side of the earthen dam on a stock pond. Just a hair over 100 yards. For longer ranges, I've got targets set up at the ranch where I deer hunt. I can shoot as far as you can see out there. Very flat and no houses in that direction for at least 7 or 8 miles. Maybe further.
