[/ QUOTE ] Look at what AJ was trying to say (looking at it from a scientific standpoint). He said two objects traveling the same speed, but being different sized wouldn't have the same effect. Point being that the .270 lead is smaller then the .300's round. Err go, it will actually penetrate at basic blunt force better then the bigger object. There is simply less surface space to expend energy. Granted its splitting hairs but there it is. Think of it like this. Build an air cannon that shoots everything at 100fps. Then shoot a marble into a watermelon, then turn around and shoot a golf ball into a watermelon. More energy will be expended on the surface from the golf ball there fore it will not penetrate any better (given they are at the same speed). My guess would be that the "Hunter" didnt make a clean shot. I bet it actually clipped the skill and caused some damage but was obviously not dead on. Chance are there is some damage period.... Whos going to walk up to the Bear with a rubber glove and Q-tip to inspect.... ? btw Coles, lay off the Caffeine, it makes you edgy... Although I agree, the damage by a grazing shot with a 270 or a 300 WSM wouldnt make any difference, I would rather be hit by a Honda Accord doing 50 than a Mack truck.
