Guest BigKahuna1243
I'm looking at buying a new fishing pole for this year and have been looking at the st. croix rods, particularily the triumph series. Has anyone had any experience with these rods? Are these good rods, or am i better off spending the extra 20 dollars or so and getting a premium series rod from st. croix? thanks for any replies

SuperMn106
Re: New Pole Welcome! I just bought a 7' Medium action St Croix rod this past summer. I love it. One of the best investments i have made for fishing. Good Luck in your choice.
DU_man_84
Re: New Pole st. croix, could not ask for a better rod, my fly fishing rod, and my walleye rods are st. croix, they are all the avid series and i love them, when it comes to walleye fishing st. croix is the way to go for me
hunterDWL
Re: New Pole you cant go wrong with any choice you make as long as its st croix ive got a rod or two in all their series and i havent had any complaints
muggs
Re: New Pole I think any St. Croix is going to be a great rod, no need to bump up the the "premium" series. Spend the extra $20 on some lures or line.
Guest BigKahuna1243
Re: New Pole Thanks for the welcomes and replies. I've been looking around the fourms for a while, and just decided to join. I figured any of the st. croix rods would be good, just wanted to see what you guys had to say. thanx again
Guest BigKahuna1243
Re: New Pole also what size would you guys reccomend? 6` 6" or 7` lentgh rod? medium/heavy? this will be used mostly for casting and trolling for walleye and pike. My dad, brother and i are heading up to canada this summer and i'd just like to get a better rod than i have. thanks again
hunterDWL
Re: New Pole i like the 7' just my taste i like a little longer rod gets it a little father away from the wash of the moter i also think they cast better to but everybody has there own feel
Randy
Re: New Pole The longer the better.
DU_man_84
Re: New Pole casting and trolling i would go with the longer rods, your gonna want some good back bone for casting and trolling also but everyone has their own taste, as for me i use mine walleye fishing and jiggin is all i do so i prefer the 6 ft ML
