Re: Studying for the ACT

Don't study.... I took it the first time with no study, and the second after intense study and got the exact same score. Then again maybe I just hit my mental ceiling at age 17 and it's not getting any better......

Re: Studying for the ACT

Go to a major bookstore.

Buy a study guide.

Take ALL the practice tests.

Nobody who does real well on those tests goes in cold. There isn't any of us who is born with the knowledge.

You can increase your score considerably working the practice tests.

Re: Studying for the ACT

I've taken it four times unfortunately. Made a 19 in 7th grade(not sure why i was asked to take it that young, but it was something about standarized test), a 25 in winter my junior year, 26 this summer, and a 27 in October(yeah, i had to miss a perfectly good morning in the stand to take a stupid test). I'm still not happy with my score, but i'm through with it. I know i should be happy with a 27, but my math dropped 7 points and reading 8 points last time from the last time.

I'm sure you were asked for the IOWA Basics tests, because at my school, if you score high on those tests, you are asked to join in something. I was chosen this year and I take it on Saturday, too. I'm studying for it, but I'm nervous blush.giftongue.gif
