johnf
Re: Studying for the ACT I remember going to the big ACT prep meeting back in 87'. It went something like this. The ACT starts at 9:AM make sure your there on time, bring plenty #2 pencils and try to eat a good breadfest. Good luck.
Exturkinator
Re: Studying for the ACT I thought it was a bit easier than the SAT because there was more math/science and less English... Good luck - hope you score well....
Guest andymansavage
Re: Studying for the ACT Don't study.... I took it the first time with no study, and the second after intense study and got the exact same score. Then again maybe I just hit my mental ceiling at age 17 and it's not getting any better...... Tom2008
Re: Studying for the ACT Well I'm not really studying. Its just a practice test that I am taking so I can have a feel for what the test will be like.

Leo
Re: Studying for the ACT Go to a major bookstore. Buy a study guide. Take ALL the practice tests. Nobody who does real well on those tests goes in cold. There isn't any of us who is born with the knowledge. You can increase your score considerably working the practice tests. Turkeygirl
Re: Studying for the ACT Good luck! Never really studied for it. Didn't do very well in the math stuff but all the other stuff, especially like verbal/grammar, etc... I scored high on. Of course I took the SAT and ACT before they changed the one of them and added a written portion to it.
toddyboman
Re: Studying for the ACT yup I took that silly test years ago. Wasnt much fun. But I do think taking the practise test help out, gives you an idea of what type and how they will ask those silly questions. Oh and just remember you take it as many times as you want to pay for.. Good Luck
rhine16
Re: Studying for the ACT I've taken it four times unfortunately. Made a 19 in 7th grade(not sure why i was asked to take it that young, but it was something about standarized test), a 25 in winter my junior year, 26 this summer, and a 27 in October(yeah, i had to miss a perfectly good morning in the stand to take a stupid test). I'm still not happy with my score, but i'm through with it. I know i should be happy with a 27, but my math dropped 7 points and reading 8 points last time from the last time. Tominator
Re: Studying for the ACT Never had to take it. I took the Naval battery to get into the Coast Guard, then my service time counted so I didn't have to take the ACT or SAT to get into college. [/ QUOTE ] I'm sure you were asked for the IOWA Basics tests, because at my school, if you score high on those tests, you are asked to join in something. I was chosen this year and I take it on Saturday, too. I'm studying for it, but I'm nervous
