buckbuster11
Re: Michael Irvan in Hall of fame [ QUOTE ] This kinda cracks me up. The NFL sends out it's lawyers yesterday and orders Tony Dungys church in Indy to cancel it's planned superbowl party for the youth or face legal action. Apparently, out of home group viewing is prohibited if you charge a fee. Yet, the bars are allowed to do it. Then today they elect a coke user into the hall of fame. The same guy who was just busted last year for having a crack pipe in his car. What a message they are sending. [/ QUOTE ] Now that is a joke. You know, if the screen they were planning on watching the game on was under 55" they could have watched it without any problem. True story. [/ QUOTE ] To take that one step further, if the place regularly shows sports games on TV, they have no problem. So sports bars can make all kinds of money airing the game, but a church can't show it for the youth group. Ridiculous.

[/ QUOTE ] For one thing ... the bars pay a whole lot more money to show Sports in a bar then the home comsumer .. period .. that being said ... the game was on CBS and off air station meaning its free to the public ... I am not sure what right they had telling a church they cant "show" the game for non profit ... As far as Michael Irvin getting into the hall of fame ... last time I checked it was the the "Hall of Fame if you were a good little boy and did all the right things to make everyone in the whole wide world happy" but rather I believe it is called the "Hall of Fame if you palyed really well in football and had exceptionally good talent on the field" ... you cant change the way ppl are and make them the way you want them ... there a lot of ppl that do a lot of bad things in this world ... him not getting into the hall of Fame for doing something totally unrelated to football off the field would be a joke ... now Pete Rose did something totally related to baseball and "tarninshed" the sport ... pa_sportsman
Re: Michael Irvan in Hall of fame Personally, I'm not impressed with Michael Irvin's receiving stats. He could be the poster child for offensive pass interference. He very frequently pushed off the defensive back...but, to his credit and benefit, it was rarely called.
