ASA 14's

Been checking in over on AT on the Gainesville Pro/Am results. Looks like there are quite a few archers zeroing in on the new 14 rule. Apparently, the leader shot 10 in the first round.

I shot my first ASA of the year two weeks ago and didn't even attempt a shot at a 14.

The way things are looking, if I want to compete at a State/National level, I may have to change my approach.

Anyone else shooting ASA? What are your strategies?

Re: ASA 14\'s

Kevin, you know there will always be the guys that go for the 14s everytime.

if you feel you have the yardage right, then why not shoot for a few. not all, but a few.

i have a feeling this is really going to be a big deal in ASA. those 14s are a serious risk reward shot..

Re: ASA 14\'s

Rumor has it that Tim Gillingham, the leader in Semi Pro class, shot at every 14 that was 35 yards and under. They say he was 40 up with two targets to go and dropped 8 points. Now that's shooting lights out.

The Hunter Class, Bow Novice and Open C classes are looking a little more human. If I remember right, they're sitting at 206, 216 and 217 respectively for the leaders.

They're not giving out an official 14 count, but the highest combined 12&14 counts I've seen are 11.

ultratec--I've got a feeling you wouldn't get your butt kicked that bad.grin.gif In fact, according to Tony, you'd be doing a little but kicking yourself.grin.gif
