He was a danged horse at their mercy. He wasn't brave. He wasn't human. He was injured because of racing, not pulling a plow. And don't let them convince you they aren't about to make even more money off this horse when they sell his sperm. I bet they got samples every day and froze them. They are rich and that's fine but don't ask people to give you money when you already have it and even then, you should at least give it to people and causes to benefit people not racing.

I see this also in my buisness, I wonder what people are going to think when they come to relize that God will not only hold us responsible for thing we've done, but also things we've failed to do. It is going to be pretty dificult explaining some of the things we've (including myself) have spent our money on. Just a thought, don't meen to preach.

It's their money, what's the big deal? They can spend it on what they want. Personally, I don't care about starving children. The world is too poplated as it is. There will always be starving kids, now a great race horse, they are rare.

I've got to agree with aj to some extent. These people have a buisness and have to make money. They lost what was probibly a huge investment. Did they love the horse? Probibly not, but who really cares. They are doing whatever they can do to get a return on their investment.

As far as the starving children comment. Here in the us we have social services that provide more than enough for the poor. If there are starving kids in the US it's because thier parents are too "proud" to ask or to stupid. A family of 3 on full assistance gets $315 dollars in food stamps a month each person after that adds another $114. That would give my family $430 a month for groceries. I make pretty good money and we spend about $250 a month and we eat good.

As far as other countries go. It seems to me we would help them out a lot more by going in and sterilizing about 75% of the population every 10 years. These folks are popping out kids as often as they can and then can't undersand why they can't feed them. It's called "having enough intelligence to know when to stop".

Wow, that was cold. crazy.gif Maybe we take too much for granted what a blessing it is that we live in such a great country, and that we always have food on the table and a roof over our heads. Maybe you should try to put yourself in other people's shoes; I'm sure you would care about starving children if you lived in some third-world country and your child was the one starving to death. If you think the world is too populated, you've always got the option to remove yourself.

Man, this aint right. The time I've spent in China was a real eye opener, you really need to see content people when they don't have more than a roof, and food. We take so much for granted and we've done nothing other than be blessed to be born in America. We need to be compasionate, giving and kind.

LOOKING GOOD AND FEELING GOOD HAS REPLACED BEING GOOD AND DOING GOOD IN AMERICA.

This is not right. Try to do something kind today for someone you don't know, It feels great.

They should have saved themselves the money used to put the horse down and put a bullet in its head. I can see using a horse to most anything but racing them is a waste. They bread them to be too tense and then race them before they are fully developed, that is why this horse broke its leg. Think of all the kids that the meat from that horse could also feed.

You guys kill me. This is what these horses live for! Yes they are trained and start racing at an early age, but they love it. It's all they know. But you should go visit a Thoroughbred retirement center and get to see how these horses get to spend the better part of their lives, in a peaceful pasture grazing and sunning all day long. Better yet if you don't know what you're talking about you should just keep your mouth shut and talk about the weather.
