Turkeygirl
is really addictive! lol I love it! Each fly is a piece of art and I love doing my own thing so it's even better. I was tying some yesterday and mom mom wanted with one with wings, lol, she thinks they are really neat. So I tied a Mosquito and a Black Nat for her, lol. I had to go cut a wing fether off one of our ducks for the Black Nat wings for my first ones of those, they turned out prett good I think. Been getting the hang of Hare's Ear Flies, got Wooly Buggers down pretty good but I knew how to do those anyway. I'll try to take some pics to show you and you can critique them, lol. Once i'm somewhat decent and faster and making them, I thought I'd try to sell a few, if I'm lucky. Oh and I can't say enough thanks to Andymansavage who sent me a Fly Tying book - it is a really great book!

Sometimes I forget I switch threads, from a heavier to thinner one and then I'm pulling it tight and SNAP! Good news is I figured out how to use the whip finisher
flyrod64
Re: This fly tying..... took me awhile too, and I still usually just half hitch mine. Lazy I guess LOL
Turkeygirl
Re: This fly tying..... LOL, yeah those half hitches sure are alot easier. Sometimes the string slips off the whip and then I'm ready to heave the thing across the room...oh the joys of flies:-)
