That Was a Scare!!!!

I went outside to take care of my beagle today. With the temperatures so frigid, I keep his house stocked with plenty of hay. We have an old chicken coop that we keep some bails in. I went to the coop to get some hay with my bare hands...I reached my hand deep into it to get a good arms full and when my left hand got in about a foot, I felt fur and something warm and shaking very nervously. I whipped my hand out and ran to the house to get the .22 and got a shovel. I used the shovel and broke apart the bail of hay to discover a full grown raccoon in it!!!! ooo.gif The .22 took care of him and I feel very lucky I'm not in the hospital getting my hand stitched up and a tetanis shot. crazy.gif

Amazed at the sentiment for a coon in here sometimes. They're vermin in these parts, I hate them.

Good job Nick!

Why does everyone feel bad for coons? They spread disease and get in the garbage, steal the chiken eggs and herass the dogs at night. I wish it would warm up here so I could get back out and shoot some more.
