Saddam DID have WMD's

Just found out yesterday that there is an article that has been written by a former member of Saddam's cabinet. He basically gives a very detailed account of how Saddam smuggled the weapons into Syria under the cover of aid to a flood tht occured in Syria. There had been a few other pieces about this but they were dismissed as political propaganda. This looks to be the real deal and maybe it will shush some of the nay-sayers about this war.

Re: Saddam DID have WMD\'s

Everybody knew this. homer.gif He used them in the genocide against his own people, for crying out loud!! There's been testimony from Iraqi pilots and truck drivers who were employed making numerous trips into Syria hauling "unknown" cargo.

The only folks who deny it are American liberals, democrat politicians and the news media (who are one and the same anyways).

Boubtful. The anti-war left would continue to push their cut and run strategy even if we dug up a dozen nukes and found detailed plans of how they were going to be given to al Queda and used against U.S. cities.

Re: Saddam DID have WMD\'s

anyone with common sense knew that,........well except for most Democrats!!! but unfortunatly with the media playing a constant negative game with Americans minds it won't make any difference, or the fact that we almost went to the extreme to beg Saddam to comply with inspections before we were forced to invade.

Saddam's WMD hidden in Syria, says Iraq survey chief

Nizar Nayuf (Nayyouf-Nayyuf), a Syrian journalist who recently defected from Syria to Western Europe and is known for bravely challenging the Syrian regime, said in a letter Monday, January 5, to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, that he knows the three sites where Iraq's Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) are kept. The storage places are:

1- Tunnels dug under the town of al-Baida near the city of Hama in northern Syria. These tunnels are an integral part of an underground factory, built by the North Koreans, for producing Syrian Scud missiles. Iraqi chemical weapons and long-range missiles are stored in these tunnels.

-2- The village of Tal Snan, north of the town of Salamija, where there is a big Syrian air force camp. Vital parts of Iraq's WMD are stored there.

-3-. The city of Sjinsjar on the Syrian border with the Lebanon, south of Homs city.

[ QUOTE ]

quote:

Nayouf writes that the transfer of Iraqi WMD to Syria was organized by the commanders of Saddam Hussein's Special Republican Guard, including General Shalish, with the help of Assif Shoakat , Bashar Assad's cousin. Shoakat is the CEO of Bhaha, an import/export company owned by the Assad family.

In February 2003, a month before America's invasion in Iraq, very few are aware about the efforts to bring the Weapons of Mass Destruction from Iraq to Syria, and the personal involvement of Bashar Assad and his family in the operation.

Nayouf, who has won prizes for journalistic integrity, says he wrote his letter because he has terminal cancer.

[/ QUOTE ]

There is no question that Iraq is better without Saddam and that Asnar al Islam has been disrupted without a terror friendly base. The WMD existed before and after our invasion and not an overblown threat.

Whether you find yourself a Republican, Democrat, or Independent you must realize that the war in Iraq has clear purpose and justifaction and it is wrong to condemn it as "Haliburtons Escapade".

Re: Saddam DID have WMD\'s

Americans can be so easily persuaded to believe whatever the media wants them to. If the media started portraying the war or Bush in a better light his approval ratings would go through the roof. Even with facts in front of us, most Americans won't believe it until someone tells them to.

Re: Saddam DID have WMD\'s

We Americans get exactly what we deserve.

A little more than 30% of this country determined the last go round of elections....that 30% are the people who by and large vote for a living.

They can lie, report false issues, and ignore good news and we do nothing about it. They can protest and have hundreds of thousands staging around the country. They can and have changed the outcome of this war.

We, on the other hand, have no idea what our elected reps are doing and saying and can't be bothered to quit whatever we are doing and stand up and say enough is enough.

Re: Saddam DID have WMD\'s

i'm surprised that this is "news" to some. we found the weapons, we found planes that delivered them (spray setup on an old f4c), we found chemical stashes, we found mass graves with hundreds of thousands of bodies all killed by the weapons. yet, most still do not believe.

does anyone on the left ever question what happened to our 9 years of paying the u.n. tens of millions of dollars to look for weapons of mass destruction that everyone 'KNEW' saddam had? he did, and our troops did find them... and him. the libs just won't report it.
