Re: Popping the big Question!

I proposed to my wife in church. After mass I took her over to the intention candles, told her to light one and pray on something. When she got done, I pulled out the ring and asked her if her prayer came true. She grabbed the ring, ran out of the church and didn't answer me.

But the tears in her eyes said yes. grin.gif

If you both like sports....go to a game and have them put it up on the score board at halftime. I seen that happen at a Philadelphia phillies game i thought it was really nice grin.gifgrin.gif

Re: Popping the big Question!

If I were a guy, I'd do it in a BIG way. Either rent a billboard, sky-write it, put it it in a corn field and fly her over it, ask her in front of a BUNCH of people, like at a sporting event, or on a rollercoaster. Ask her right before you go over the top of the biggest hill. grin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gif

Re: Popping the big Question!

I was quite proud of my proposal, and actually posted it here when it happened:

It was halloween, and I lived 40 miles from my "girlfriend":

I put on an ape suit, and carved a pumpkin out, ....errr wait, I carved the pumpkin first...then the ape suit....she had no idea I was coming to town.....anywho, I attached a string to the pumpkin lid and put the ring inside: I sat outside her house waiting for kids to leave her front door then I went and knocked....when she opened I barged in, in full costume scaring the heck out of her, I hopped around the house with pumpkin in my hand and pointed for her to open the pumpkin, by this time I was almost hyperventilating and actually sat down on her stairs, she removed the lid and lifted it so quick, she didn't see the ring attached to the lid....once she saw it, I took off the mask and asked......here are a couple of pics....One of my shining moments if I do say so myself! grin.gif343772.jpg

And finally with the mask off (scary, eh!)

Re: Popping the big Question!

I was waiting for the first snow of the year. Would you believe the perfect opportunity came with big fluffly flakes, good temperature and no wind. I was sitting in the middle of a harvested barley field with a rifle in my hands. grin.gif

The next time it snowed was a couple weeks since then, and although it wasn't as nice as the first time, it didn't matter. She wasy very happy in the middle our driveway under the yard light. grin.gif

Re: Popping the big Question!

We went to a little park in town that had a lake on it with a walkway built to the middle with a gazebo in the middle. We walked out to the gazebo and sat down and began talking, I said, "I talked to a man about you this week. I told him how much I loved you and that you were the best thing that happened to my life. I looked him in the eye and said, 'Steve (which is her dad's name), I love your daughter and want her to be my wife, can I have your blessing?' and told her that he said, "yes"........with that, I got down on one knee and proposed. Nine years later, here we are still very happily married.

Re: Popping the big Question!

Mine was during Christmas. I wrapped up a phillips screwdriver tied to a fishing line. When she opened it up she had a confused look on here face. She followed about 300 yards of fishing line down into the pasture to a wooden box behind a hay bail. The box was screwed together with her ring inside.

Re: Popping the big Question!

I have reserved a table at her favourite restaurant(the one we went to first) for sat night, and if it's not too cold out I was thinking about proposing in a park in town on the waterfront(ice front) . I was also wondering about taking the dog for a walk with her and before dinner and maybe doing it then? Maybe attach the ring to the leash or something. But if it's cold out those might be out the window so keep the great ideas coming!
