Man, I have been seeing a lot of posts lately regarding people being sick and I'll tell ya what...I wouldn't wish this on a liberal lawyer....(well maybe blush.gifgrin.gif). Seems the other day when I was fixing my water heater, it wasn't the only plumbing problem I would be running into. grin.gif Man I was home from work sick with this on Saturday, felt better and went back to work on Sunday and had to bang in today after being up all night in the bathroom last night. How long does this stuff last?? confused.gif

Last night I contemplated taking a blanket into the bathroom and just staying in there for the night. No relief for most of the day today, and I think now I am so dehydrated that I only think I feel better. Wait and see what tonight brings. I hardly moved off the couch today, caught up on some movies and shows (Jarhead, Any Which Way But Loose, UFC, Wood Works with David Marks, Gettin' Close- Tiffany... smirk.gif, and Jimmy Neutron) grin.gif

Respiratory stuff here. My 17 month old has been sick with cold and cough since just about the first of November with just a few breaks in between. I've fought it off for the most part. Right now I have a very aggravating cough that just will not go away. Not had to deal with the stomach bug yet, hopefully we can dodge that bullet.

Re: Swampy\'s sick as a dog thread...

A few weeks ago I thought I had a sore throat. I tried to get a lot of rest and ride it out, but it got a lot worse. It got so bad my dad had to come out and get me to take me to the hospital. It turns out I had Strep B. My body had gone into shock. I hadn't eaten for a day nor did I have any desire to. I had fevers, aching back and legs, no energy, and incoherent thought. I told my dad just recently that it was a good thing that he called me and realized I wasn't altogether there. He said that I had actually called him. I don't remember picking up the phone or dialing the number.

I did a little internet research on Strep B. It is most commonly associated with newborns and only has an incidence rate of 6 to 8 in 100,000 in adults. However, it is fatal in 20% of the cases where contracted by adults, although they admit that number is high due to the incidence of the virus in the elderly and those with weakened immune systems. After going through it, I can see how it could kill someone if not treated. It was the sickest I've been in my life by a large margin.
