Guest realtrhunter
My girlfeiend is getting more into hunting and is wanting to get a shot gun for waterfowl, turkey, dove and deer hunting. She shot an 870 this past weekend with 3.5 shells while snow goose hunting and she didnt say anything about it bothering her. I was just wondering what you all shoot and what I should be looking for when looking at guns for her. Also any advice on hunting with ladies would be appreciated. Turkeygirl
Re: Need advice for lady hunter I shoot a Mossberg 500 20 ga. 20 ga. are alot more forgiving/less recoil then 12 ga, in my experience. With my Mossberg, it has interchangeable choke tubes, therefore I do small game hunting and deer hunting with the same gun, just change out choke tubes. They make a youth model of the same gun which I should probably have rather then the full size, but it works for me. The Mossberg 500 20 ga takes 2 3/4" and 3" shells. Guest TnLadyhunter
Re: Need advice for lady hunter I LOVE my Remingto n1187 3 inch 12 guage. I agree 20's have alot less recoil but 12 guages have more nock down and reach out there. So I got that gun for turkey. I use a 20 guage for rabbits, squirrels, etc. I had a 870 first and I took alot of animals with it;) If you are going to go big game and you dont mind the recoil I would go big gun but that is just my opinion;)
