too_pointer
Hello. I am currently using Remington "golden bullets, they are a hollow point, high velocity. I have used Rem. "yellow jackets" alot in the past. I have tried the CCI's, but found they like to jam in my semi-auto. I'm not to awful fussy when it comes to .22 shells as long as they are copper covered bullets.I look for bargains too_pointer
AJ
Re: .22lr ammo Depends on the gun. I use a lot of the Federal bulk packed 550 round lr hollow points for hunting. They shoot decent but not great in most of my guns and are cheap to buy. I shoot Rem Thunderbolt in my 22/45 Race Gun. It likes that stuff and its cheap. My perty target 10/22 likes PMC Target standard velotity ammo the best. My sporter 10/22 likes Federal target standard velotity ammo the best. My .22 is a semi-auto and either the Remington or the federal (I cant remember) doesn't eject properly. It doesn't have enough oomph to reload the next shell. Still, it doesn't take but a second to jack in the next shell.
Gator
Re: .22lr ammo CCI's is ALL I will shoot. I had a bad incident many years ago with federal rounds. Somehow, when the bullet went off, it went out the barrel, the end blew off the brass, leaving the casing stuck in the barrel. That was 15-20yrs ago, used CCI's ever since, never another problem. fisherguy
Re: .22lr ammo FOr the .22 i use whatever is cheap and plentiful. I am not out to split ahirs or take long shots, so anything that comes cheap in bulk is what i go for. I just have a hard time paying more for .22 ammo for some reason.
