tallone
Two weeks ago I bought my new Vectrix xl and was going thru the process of getting everything I wanted to go on it one of those things was a new custom string by Gibblet aka Bucknasty so I called Hoyt to get the exact string, cable and yoke sizes for my bow and my friends who also bought a vectix xl mine is a 31.5 draw and his is a 31 the guy I talked to at hoyt gives me two different sets of numbers which I didn't think twice about, last night I was playing around with my bow and noticed the string size said 60? the hoyt guy told me mine was a 58.5 so I call them up today and the person I talked to said the other guy didn't know what he was talking about it is 60! I told him I had already ordered and paid for a custom set of strings and he said I had better call them and see what they would do and that if they couldn't fix the string I was out of luck. I called John (gibblet) and lucky for me he hasen't got to start on my string yet. I can't believe I call the company and get someone that dosen't know what they are doing and I'm expected to pay the price for his stupidity! AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Hoyt\'s knowledgable service dept Didn't your bow have this information on it? Usually on the limbs you have the information provided. Its the first place Bucknasty will tell you to check. Sorry about the bad service at Hoyt, I have had good luck with them. tallone
Re: Hoyt\'s knowledgable service dept It didn't have the yoke size and my last bow had the wrong information on the limbs and I didn't want to make that mistake again. That's why I called Hoyt directly.
Tony
Re: Hoyt\'s knowledgable service dept if you go to Hoyts website and go to the tuning charts, you can find the specs on any Hoyt bow made in the last 10 years. they have all 3 cable sizes. tallone
Re: Hoyt\'s knowledgable service dept Tony and pastringking I looked there first, if you know where the 2007 models are (vectrix) could you tell me because all I see are the models up to 2006 they haven't added the new line yet unless I'm looking in the wrong area and I did find the cable length on my bow and it's a quarter inch different than what the guy at Hoyt is telling me so what do i do now? tallone
Re: Hoyt\'s knowledgable service dept I've heard mixed reviews about the new fuse strings and didn't want to take a chance with any issues and I've only heard great things about gibblets work so I went with him. I didn't have a problem with the one I have just wanted peace of mind and hopefully a better string.
Tony
Re: Hoyt\'s knowledgable service dept Fumble.... yep i blew it as well. have not had a new Hoyt for a while now. but i ALWAYS put a good after market string on them. i have found that a good quality after market string will cause you less problems in the long run. good luck with your new bow.
