VermontHunter
Man I hate being on the short end of the stick most of the time.... To start off the year the wife and I had to cancel our plans to visit Steve B. and his wife Rilda out in Wyoming this fall,, because of some surgery she had to have , which ate into the money we had set aside for the trip. It had to go for paying for her time off and some medical deductables..... but that was OK ,,, it was to better her health I can live with that.... But this latest thing has just got me in a frenzy... My truck decided to have some fits and now has to have major surgery itself.. ,,, by the way it's looking all of my QUIT SMOKING savings are going to be gonzo to pay for some major repairs,, and this money was ear marked for a new bow that I was really needing.... Trivial I know but man ,, this kind of stuff is getting real old real fast... ,, sometimes it really makes me wonder if it's really worth it.... Sorry all just had to VENT ,, this hasn't been what I would call a great start to the year...

VermontHunter
Re: Letting OFF Steam Well bow season isn't until Oct. but you know how that works,, with the saving money thing.... ,,, always seems to be another bill to popping up out of the woodwork..... or something else decides to break.... need2hunt
Re: Letting OFF Steam Man Luke, I know how it feels. Seems like everytime we get some "extra" funds you can pretty much bet something is going to go wrong with one of the vehicles. Sorry to hear about it. VermontHunter
Re: Letting OFF Steam [ QUOTE ] sorry to hear it Luke. Whats wrong with the S-10? [/ QUOTE ] Whats Wrong ?? is two part .. #1. I have to have the EGR Valve replaced .. $250.00 + ,,, and this means the Intake Manifold needs to be removed and sent out to be acid washed to remove excessive carbon build up.... another $450.00+ ... Yikers.. #2. both wheel bearing need replacing.. $259.00 per side with labor... Me-Oh-My ... There's close to $1000.00 if everything goe's well.... Let's just say Bye-Bye New Bow..... Born2Hunt
Re: Letting OFF Steam The one problem I see is acid washing will not take care of the build up. I work in an automotive machine shop and I wash parts in acid every day and I know my machines will not cut it. It will take a lot of hand cleaning, chipping and such then a good glass beading and to finish a good acid bath. Sound like what I did all day long. VermontHunter
Re: Letting OFF Steam That very well could be the total process of cleaning the intake,, at that time all I heard was acid wash .... I was pretty ticked when the GM Mechanic was talking to the wife and I...
Born2Hunt
Re: Letting OFF Steam I hear ya! I get that ticked look every day from customers in my line of work. It will all work out for ya. I have the same problem with my bow stash as we speak.

Tominator
Re: Letting OFF Steam Sorry to hear about your news Luke. I can relate. 2 weeks before my trip to Hawaii, my wife's van took a dump on us to the tune of $1,300 which ate into my helicopter and fishing funds. But, things could be worse. That's what I told myself, which didn't work too good.
Shaun_300
Re: Letting OFF Steam Man that sucks Luke! Sure wish I lived closer, I'd fix that truck for ya for a lot cheaper than that! Hope things get better for ya!
wtnhunt
Re: Letting OFF Steam Sorry about that Luke, guess another way to look at is is that you had the money to take care of these things without going into debt. Would guess we all go through times like this, and I have become afraid when things start hitting to ask what can go wrong next. Hope things get going better for you. jbeck
Re: Letting OFF Steam I'm with ya brother, after this next adoption loan is taken out. My retirement just jumped to 85. I'm woking out and trying to quit chewing so I can live long enough to pay off the bills. LOL Some times it gets to be a bit much, then Carlee says I love you daddy, and I'm praying for Cadee in China, and I remember. It ain't all bad. Keep the faith, and if you need that bow come fall, I might be able to help you out.
