Steven
My 22 year-old cousin, Kristi, was always one of those not quite animal rights type people. You know the "hurt could you hurt them, they're so pretty". Well, aparently a few things have changed. I haven't seen her much over the last year and she blew my mind this evening. She was asking me about my new career and out of nowhere she says "next fall you need to take me to Kansas so I can shoot a big buck". After I picked my jaw off the floor and convinced myself she wasn't kidding, she continued... "I had a 6 pointer in my scope a couple of weeks ago but he was over 300 yards away and I didn't want to take the shot". I did anything a good cousin would do, I went to her mom to get the scoop. Turns out, she's been dating this guy who has really turned her on to hunting and she jumped in with both feet. "She's already dropped a couple of does and a small buck this year." Wow! It's amazing how much someone can change in a year.
OJR
Re: Another surprise from my family Christmas party There is hope after all! Glad she has gotten together with someone who hunts and it seems she is really enjoying it! That is great!

billygoat
Re: Another surprise from my family Christmas party There you go Racksie, all that talk about hunting when you were young rubbed off on her... It really wasn't the boyfriend that got her hooked on hunting, he just sealed the deal. Congratulations, now you'll have to get her on a Kansas whitetail hunt (and if there's an extra opening, I'll take one too [lol])

Grant-KS
Re: Another surprise from my family Christmas part That's a good change! We don't like all them foreigners coming to shoot our deer, but I guess we'll let her come...especially if she's as cute as most of your family. LMBO! We still need to meet sometime when you're up here. I've just been owned by a girl. I didn't even get to hunt this year. Good luck finding land for her, it's getting harder these days with all the guides and outfitters leasing up all the land. It's getting to be sickening. I hate guides now. Anyway, end of rant.
