woodshed
Re: realtree hosts Lou, I agree, it would be nice. But they would immediately get hammered into conversations/questions by us. Lets face it, they are famous!! They get mobbed by any hunter that pays attention. To a point, I feel that it's part of a celebrities job to meet and greet fans when ever possible. That isn't always what happens. You said that if he can go on "myspace" then he can come here. I still try to relate myself into it to understand their perspectives. I would never get on a website forum for my job where I would get the attention they would get here. It wouldn't be a part of my normal internet browsing time. I want to be on my sites that I have for hobbies and passions that I don't have to live everyday all day long like my career. Hectic or not, they probobaly just aren't interested in sitting here with guys they don't know talking about hunting.
ohiobuckhunter
Re: realtree hosts Man you guys are crazy about this topic when i joined i didn't join to hear from or to talk to any of the rt staff and it doesn't make any difference to me if there on here or not. And just because there on tv doesn't mean that they are better i would say that most of us on here that are hunting public lands and free range propertys with limited trophy bucks are probably better than most of them I would rather get advice from my fellow hunters not a tv personality. TexasDeerHunter
Re: realtree hosts I guess that I see both sides of this debate. Yes, I would like to see those guys on here every now and then, but I do understand their busy schedule. Michael is such a down to earth guy and I suppose that's what draws folks to him and it just seems natural he would come here and just be one of the gang. I personally would feel compelled to visit with the folks who so strongly support the products that put food in my babies mouth, and I can not imagine Michael W not wanting to talk about hunting. My job is not just a job to me it is something I really enjoy, often I am asked construction related questions when I am away from work and have no problem carrying on an in depth conversation about it. On the flip side, I am content to come here and visit with all of you guys and the pro-staffers we have , ya'll are a great bunch of guys and gals . Whether or not Michael , Bill, or David show up here is not a deciding factor to me logging in.

Bow Hunter Derek
Re: realtree hosts I'd personally rather the guys like Waddell, Blanton, or any other "hunting stars" stay off these sites. Not that I don't like any of them or have anything against them. I have my opinions on a few hunting TV "stars" but I'll keep that to myself. The reason I prefer them to stay off these sites is because every time any one of them goes on any type of forum all that comes of it is the "aahhs and ooohhhs" of all the fan boys. All the posts are the equivalent of 15 year old girls at a pop star concert (man I'm old, I don't even know who a current teen pop star is!) Every reply post ends up "hey Micheal! What's up buddy! Glad you could be here! ..." That kind of garbage. I'm glad they don't come on here or the other sites that often.
Swamphunter
Re: realtree hosts I sometimes think they are actually here and to avoid all the oooh's and aaaah's they just pick some run of the mill name and make no reference to who they are. I'll bet the mod's wouldn't even know. Heck, any one of the members here that have not been to a Smackdown could be a tv personality. These guys lives are built around hunting and fishing and although it is "work" for them, they also say they have the best job in the world. I find it tough to believe that during the off season, they drop everything hunting related and do not involve themselves with forums, or magazines what-so-ever. JMO, I could be wrong. SaskMan
Re: realtree hosts I am also one of the guys that could really care less if any of them pop in here. I didn't join to try and pick their brains about anything. Not trying to be belittling or anything but quite frankly I'd rather chat hunting with pretty much any guy in here. For the most past most of us, go to work at our job that pays the bills and obsess about hunting on the side. I'd rather share ideas with someone that comes from the same walk of life as me. Rhino
Re: realtree hosts It doesn't matter to me if Michael, David, or Bill choose to participate or not. I certainly don't feel slighted if they don't. I do appreciate Randy Oitker, Tim Andrus, and Steve Beilgard being regulars in here and keeping us up to date with what is going on, etc. Thanks guys. However, I do understand what SaskMan is talking about too. Quite frankly with the places (and the number of them) that Michael, David, and Bill have to go to kill the number of big bucks year in and year out to make the MB video series, Roudtrips, etc., it's hard for the average guy to relate to how they do it. The rest of us, for the most part, have to do all of our own homework everywhere we hunt and the majority of us hunt areas where the chances of killing big bucks is far less than the places they hunt. Quite frankly most of us hunt areas where the deer get a lot more hunting pressure than where they hunt. We have to deal with far more difficult hunting conditions than they do so we can easily relate to each others circumstances. For those reasons I'm fine with just conversing with y'all if they choose to be or not to be a part of the forum. I honestly didn't expect them to be a part of the forum when I joined it so that's not why I'm here.

Adjam5
Re: realtree hosts Bottom line you can't forget about the people who are paying your salary and promoting the company you work for by buying their products. If all of us(well not just us) was not silly over the Realtree products and the whole shebang how popular would they be? Its like being a music star and never having a concert. I mean come on....Even the Rolling Stones have time to visit the fans and they do not have much time left I think all the Wadell fans are saying is stop by once and a while and don't forget about the people who made you famous..Thats all. indianaboy
Re: realtree hosts Heres what I have to say about this whole thing. I met Michael in November at our local gander mountain. He probably signed close to 3 to 400 autographs in about 5 hrs. I am sure he is one of the nicest guys in the world. From what I could gather from the 5 min talk my girlfriend and I had with him as he was trying to find a clothes hanger to unlock our doors in the parking lot he is. But for 5 hrs and meeting hundreds of people and being the nicest guy in the world it takes a special person to be like that. We went through the autograph line the first time and got our stuff autographed. We went through the second time because we finally got the car unlocked to get our camera out so we could get pictures with him. He still remembered our names after 2 hrs and hundreds of people. The poor guy was sweating his butt off and I am sure he'll have carpal tunnel by 40. So what I am saying is cut these guys a break they work they butts off. I know if it was me I would be tired of being bothered all day. Anywhere they go there is always going to be someone who recognizes them. JMO. Heres our pics with him.
