Jeramie
Ok, unlike most I love tax time. I file single and one. I pay in A LOAD of taxes every check but get back a pretty good chunk. Its like a savings plan. Granted I could put that money in a savings account and draw interest but realistically to much happens in a year that would level that account..... Anywho, This year we are looking at $6,700! To bad we can blow it, we are actually paying stuff off and getting caught up on stuff but man even that feels good. Every time I see a payment go by by I smile from ear to ear. There is a little "Play money" in there too. We bought season passes to Silver Dollar city for about the 5th year in a row (Branson, MO). I am also getting a new acoustic amp and a new acoustic if my wife allows it..... And we are looking to do some work around the house that we have been needing to do.... So how did everyone else fair and if you get a refund whats in the plans?!
snapper
Re: Tax Time Baby! Are you kidding me? I hate tax time...think how much money you paid in to only get back $6,700!!!!! We will get a return as well...but not even close to what we paid in!!!!!

c_lou
Re: Tax Time Baby! We got about $4,000 back. Some is going into a savings for a trip for my wife and I next year. Some will go towards paying off some bills, and the rest will go into the savings. Nothing to exciting.

Ask me the other 11 months of the year and you'll probably get a different response.

Ohiobucks
Re: Tax Time Baby! IRS.gov website says our refund of almost $7,000 should be direct deposited by 2/27/07. bfletch7441
Re: Tax Time Baby! I'll be getting about $5000 back from the Fed. I think of it like Jeramie. If I got an extra few hundred bucks a month, it would get spent. This way, at least I'm able to do something useful with it. Ben

I actually send all of my stuff over to my account and within a week there's some more money in the bank! As a matter of fact, mine was been done and deposited last week. Rhino
Re: Tax Time Baby! I absolutely hate tax time. It takes a lot of my time to organize all my accounting, etc. just to get it in a working format for my accountant. Then I pay him about $1,000/year to prepare the book of forms for the tax returns I have to sign and send in. With the complicated tax laws as they are now, there's no way I could prepare all the forms that have to go in with my tax returns. Included in that is more $ for the IRS and a couple of state tax returns and that's after paying quarterly estimated taxes. On top of that, 1st quarter estimated taxes are due on the same day. That's a chunk of $ out of my pocket all at once on April 15th. Even worse is being audited. Their attitude is you're guilty unless proven innocent. I've been audited twice in the past 10 years. More unproductive time spent on my part and more $ paid to the accountant again. Both times I had to dig up backup information they requested to ultimately have them accept my returns as they were. Tominator
Re: Tax Time Baby! Haven't started my process yet. Got the software the other day. We'll probably get around $4K back. Things with us change so much from year to year depending on if my wife gets a bonus or not, so it's tough for us to break even like you're supposed to. We're planning on paying on the home equity bill, doing some cement work, and I'm allowing myself $400 to buy a scope for my ML.
