jerdanmagic
We're headed back down to Florida to do some serious Bassin', March 1,2&3. It will be our third trip to Lake Istokpoga in Central Florida. Its the 5th largest lake in Florida, and somewhat of a sleeper compared to the ''Big O.'' On our past two trips we've caught countless 5-7 pounders and a few 8's and 9's. But this year its all business, and I'm coming home with a 10!!!!! Pics coming soon!!! jerdanmagic
Re: Florida Bassin Trip!!!! In Florida, We use wild shiners 99% of the time. Its a really fun changeup because we fish artificials all the time and everywhere else. At home use all artificials for bass, but when we go to Istokpoga, its shiner time! Theres nothing like sitting back and watching a bass hammer live bait. Some of the shiners that we use are uo to 3/4 of a pound, so you know its gonna take a monkster to take him down. Live bait is where its at!!!!
Gator
Re: Florida Bassin Trip!!!! LOL!!!! That's what I figured you'd use!!!! I ahve caught shiners I know that were OVER a pound. We had a lake downhill from my house had some MONSTER bass in it, plus shiners. We'd bait the shiners in, guess what, the bass would show up to. I lost one well over 8lbs in there one night. I saw several fish come out of this lake over 7lbs. And a couple of 10's. Even saw one swimming one night that was a good 12lb fish.........
