Guest Andrea
Re: Wolves I'd be in trouble because there's no way I could sit there and watch that happen. There'd be wolf fur flying. I wonder if this person had a gun or just a camera. How awful to be eaten alive. At least the lions in Africa choke you to death first before they start chowing down. They just gang up and chase it......running it down til it can't run anymore, then they just tear it to shreds while it lays there...helpless. elkoholic
Re: Wolves I have seen pictures from wolf attacks where part of the animal was eaten, usually rear quarters and stomach area, and the animals were still alive. Wolves have attacked flocks of sheep and maimed (took a few bites) of several and left them to die, or have killed an entire flock and fed on just a few. Wolves do not just kill to survive, as there are many documented cases of them killing just for the "fun" of it. It is what they do. As much as I love to hear the howl of a wolf in the wild, I firmly believe that there can also be too many wolves and the only means of natural control requires that they decimate the prey species they feed upon before their population drops off. As for the tale that there is no documented wolf attacks on humans, that is false. They would do the same to humans as they do to any other prey. A few years back, they were going to have a special wolf kill program here on Vancouver Island, because the wolf population was way too high. Well the tree-huggers won the battle, and stopped the trapping program. The wolves ended up decimating the blacktail and Elk population the north 2/3rds of the island before naturally dieing off from lack of food and thinning themselves naturally. We used to have a 3 deer limit here, but it was cut back to 2 deer, and is still in effect, because the deer are still making a come-back in the higher remote mountain areas. And as for no documented cases of wolf attacks, I guess there wouldn't be any, because no-one would survive to tell the story anyway.
