Jason the best time to make a sight is @ 1:32 a.m. on Tuesdays. It helps to be in an ape costume and use only a match for a light. Good luck, and let me know how it goes for ya!!!!!

That works, but you might also try choosing the coldest day of the month and wear nothing but the BVD's! blush.gif

Or do it like I do and put it out as soon as you have a chance. Minerals work good year round.

Re: Putting out minerals????

Yes the best time is as soon as you get it. They use it more in the summer than winter but they always use it. Make sure you put it in a good location. My best ones were on the side of my food plots in a small low spot. I have also put blocks on stumps and had deer come and bite chunks of the wood off and chew it. They would then spite out the wood. I dont put it on stumps anymore since I now mix my own and dont use blocks. Good luck grin.gif

Re: Putting out minerals????

50 pounds: 18.5 Dicalcium Phosphate

50 pounds: 18/18 Hy-phos

50 pounds: Kandy Kid Stockade Dried Molasses

150 pounds: Trace Mineral Salt

We buy this from Fleet Farm in Wisconsin.

We mix it in 5 gallon buckets and store in a covered 55 gallon barrel.

We put out 5 gallons at a time every 3-4 months.

Pour it right on the ground or on an old stump.

Can't hardly screw it up and deer by us love it. 300 pounds for around $50 wink.gif

Re: Putting out minerals????

Finn,

That one is a little different than what I use. I use the 1 bag, di-calcuim phosphate, 1 rock salt and 2 trace mineral. Put all this in a drum and roll it down my driveway several times to mix. I then us e the coffee cans to put it out when I go to my sites. They like this alot but I will now have to try yours for the heck of it. Thanks grin.gif
