ThethirdI
These are the new shotguns that my boys just bought for themselves. I paid for the initial purchase, but they have to pay me back like a loan. It is a learning exercise for the boys. They are starting to be taught to manage their money and I wanted them to learn the responsibility of owing someone your money before you get it. Maybe this will help keep them from blowing their money when they get older. They both thought long and hard before agreeing to the contracted payment plan. I hope that the turkeys and squirrels and rabbits that they kill with them will be just rewards for their efforts. Thanks for looking folks! They are both very proud of their first guns. Newarcher
Re: New Shotguns for the boys! That's pretty awesome..... However, IMHO, a better lesson would have been to teach them to save up for their shotgun instead of the lesson of going into debt. I am a rabid anti-debt person. Plus, one would have undoubtedly earned his before the other...great lesson in reward and loss, perceived deprivation and delayed gratification. But all is not lost, you could sign them up for a paper route and wake them up at 5:00 on Saturday to go deliver them! Teach them what it is really like when you go in debt to the man! I like the guns! New

ThethirdI
Re: New Shotguns for the boys! We are the only hunting family in our whole neighborhood. "The Toledo Ohio Department of Homeland Defense" is probably not what's going through the minds of the folks around here when we walk out of the house in full camo with gun cases and bow cases in tow. I try every chance I get to educate those that will listen. I think that quite a few have learned a lot that they didn't know about hunting. My boys are great advocates in their school as well. Thanks for looking!
Adjam5
Re: New Shotguns for the boys! Keep them in the woods and they'll stay out of trouble. Good guns to start with and good Luck with the boys!

Shaun_300
Re: New Shotguns for the boys! Cool! Nice looking guns, the squirrels and other pests better look out now! Single shot 20ga's are probably the best first gun a person could get. That was mine, dad got a Remington 812 20ga before I was born and said he was going to give it to his first son. Killed many grouse, squirrels and coons with that gun!
ThethirdI
Re: New Shotguns for the boys! Had the boys go through the paces tonight on dismantling and cleaning their guns. They have cleaned mine in the past but it seemed more important to them now because these are their own. They are pumped up about going out with them for the first time.
