gitcha_some
i got a moultrie trail cam for christmas (the 4.1 or 3.1) and it hasnt even produced a single pic besides my face while im setting it. everytime i put it out i get great pictures of myself, but its as if it just dies once i leave because everytime i come back it says "battery low" and the only pics are of me. I've tried new batteries so it cant be bad battery. does anyone know what it could be?
arrow32
Re: losing my mind Are there any battery saving settings on it? My leaf river will last on the same batteries for around months if not longer.
arrow32
Re: losing my mind Has it been real cold up your way? Could be the cold draining the battery. Not sure never had that problem just thought of that after I made my first post.
gitcha_some
Re: losing my mind the only time i had it out in the cold was this week but it still did the same exact thing that happened when it wasnt cold out. winter didnt really even hit until about 3 or 4 weeks ago
BowtechTurkeyHunter
Re: losing my mind silly question are you sure something is walking in front of it? ... also are you using a sim card? if so make sure its unlocked ... makes a difference when you put the card in as to when you turn the camera on ... TreeWalker
Re: losing my mind Do a search for Moultrie in this room, and you will probably find many threads from this time last year, concerning some of the same things.....I know alot of guys that had lots of problems with the first batches of this camera.........if it is still relatively new, i would take it where you got it, and ask for an exchange......hopefully you get a good one the second time around. wtnhunt
Re: losing my mind Sorry to tell you this, but your problem is you got a moultrie. They are hit or miss. If you get lucky, you might get a good one. In my leaf river cam, I have had the batteries last over 3 months and take probably close to a thousand pics on one set of batteries. If the camera is only sensing you at 3 feet, and you have no way to increase the sensitivity beyond where it is currently, the camera is USELESS. My best advice to you would be to take it back, get a leaf river.
gitcha_some
Re: losing my mind yeah i tried to tell my parents that spending the extra money on the leaf river would be so worth it in the long run, but they dont really understand any of this stuff my dad is an oldschool hunter and doesnt really care about technology, he doesnt even have a cell phone LOL everytime i tell them that they shouldve gotten the leaf river they just tell me im spoiled enough for them getting me this one, im grateful that they got it for me because even though its a moultrie it wasnt cheap, but dang i know if that leaf river was out at the fam right now id be getting great pics every week.....i guess ill contact moultrie and bassproshops and see wholl replace it thanks for the help though guys
wtnhunt
Re: losing my mind If bass pro was like cabelas, being that you have only had it for a couple months, they would take it back no questions asked. Maybe get a credit and come up with the extra for something better like a leaf river, or hold out until you can afford one.
