Guest sharpspur
Well, today I bought my first ML. I got the omega in RTH and stainless. I think I got everything I need to shoot it. Now I just need a decent day. (figured 3 degrees with a -15 windchill was a little too much for my first time). I went with 777 ffg powder. After reading the manual it does not reference the 777 or pyrodex powder. It only gives max loads for BP and pyrodex pellets. My buddy gave me some 200gr. shockwaves to try as they didn't work for him. Do you suggest I start at 80grns and work up from there?
AJ
Re: decided to join you Congrats on your new purchase and entry into the muzzleloading world. Its a lot of fun. As with most any gun start low and work your way up to find the best load. I would suggest starting at 80 gr and working up to see what works best for your setup. Guest sharpspur
Re: decided to join you I decided to call T/C today and ask about using the 777. The customer service rep said not to go with more than 100 grains of loose or even just 2 pellets. She said it has been tested with three of 777FFG but they don't recommend it. She also said that they are finding that the 777 tends to wear out a barrel faster than Pyrodex.
