Re: 22-250

it would be closer to the .243. it all depends on the grain of the bullet you use too. the heavier the bullet is the harder it will kick. which with a 60gr bullet still kicks very little. the .243 has a heavier bullet yet so its goin to kick harder. i dont really know what to compare it too. its more than a .223 but less than a .243. hows that? if you can shoot a 30-06 you can definatly shoot a 22-250.

Re: 22-250

You're way closer to the .243. Very little recoil. Most of the 30-06 rounds are 150grn plus and the cartridge has more energy.

The .22-250 will have far less recoil. Keep in mind a .223 has 50grn bullets. The .243 deer rounds are typically around 100grn. However, powder is still a factor in this equation. Regardless, its not enough gun to leave you black and blue.

Btw, I know they are legal to hunt deer with (here) but steer clear. I think they are a bit small for whitetail.

Re: 22-250

Don't know if they have any around you but I just picked up tonight a Remington 700SPS Varmint in 22-250 as a package with Weaver bases & rings and a Remington branded 4x12 scope for $479 plus a $30 rebate from Remington. This was at our local Dicks Sporting Goods. Cabelas was selling the gun only for $499.
