Rhino
Re: Mouth or call?? [ QUOTE ] I prefer for him to stop on his own, but if I have to do it I use my mouth. [/ QUOTE ] Same here.
buckbuster11
Re: Mouth or call?? [ QUOTE ] I would never use any call accept my own mouth call to stop a deer for a shot, and this is why. When a deer has entered your shooting range and you want to stop it for a shot, you should already be at full fraw, when making the call, because many times the deer will stop dead in his tracks and look straight at you. If your not at full draw, or haven't even got the bow up yet, you have a real good chance of getting busted. I always use a mouth call to stop em up. Sometimes they don't listen to the first one, so you have to wait until they are in another shooting lane or the right position and give em a louder nasally Maaa. I don't ever leave it up to the deer to stop in the perfect spot. I make em stop where I want him to, while at full draw It's never failed me yet. [/ QUOTE ] Bullseye. Couldn't have said it any better.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Mouth or call?? If you just get an A-way Outdoors Bowgrunter Plus your already set. The tube is in your mouth before you even draw and still there at full draw and it will make a very realistic sound that will stop that buck in his tracks. It works great!! Guest Hunter36
Re: Mouth or call?? I've only harvested 3 deer with my bow, all bucks!!! and one of them I stopped with a mouth grunt. The first deer i shot with my bow was at 8yrds and I tried stopping him 4or 5 time by doing a mouth grunt. Finally simply said JUST STOP!!! and he did. I dont know if it was because of the urban area I was hunting but he did not care about the grunts but understood English.
