Look at the great championships teams, then look at the great big man most of them have (the Bulls being an exception, but they had the best ever). How many Championships do Chamberlain, Russel, Hakeem, Kareem, Shaq, and Duncan have? It's a lot. Plenty enough to make a correlation between big man and winning...thus, Oden's level of play should not be evaluated on how many points he averages...but more correctly on how he helps his team win. [/ QUOTE ] LMAO...are you seriously comparing this guy to Wilt, russell, shaq, kareem, and duncan?? he isn't anywhere CLOSE to being on the same level as them. look at what all of those guy had in common to...it wasn't just them on that team...shaq had kobe(and wade), kareem had magic (among others) duncan has parker (and had david robinson for the first two of those championships)..and they all averaged 20+ points for their career...darko milicic is tall to, and he has a championship, let just throw him in the mix as well. Oden hasn't done ANYTHING to put him in any conversation with those guys, after 21, AVERAGE games as a college freshman..you are already building a team around him and handing him an NBA championship ring...because he is 7 foot tall what are you smokin?? I know it's hard for you, everytime someone at ohio state gets hyped up, its hard for you guys to let it go, no matter how average the guy may be. but it is what it is. and for the third time....it is not because he isn't good, it is because of his injury. i have said this all along, but some how your head won't let you absorb that. his number, stats, whatever you want to call them, are average and not what everyone was expecting, BUT when he is 100% healthy, they will be A LOT better. will he ever win an NBA championship, who knows. but i wouldn't go handing one to him just because of his height...in the NBA a big man has to do at least 2 out of the following 3 things IMO...block shots, put up 20+ points, or grab 10+ rebounds....all of those guy you mentioned before...were capable of doing ALL of those and proved it night after night...Oden is capable of doing all of those as well...but to this point, he hasn't proved it...if he stays one more year in college, and gets used to shooting with his right hand again...i will put money on him signing the biggest contract any rookie has ever signed Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If Oden doesn't show more tenacity and agressiveness, that's where he is headed, a spot in the Kwame brown, Greg Ostertag, That Big Country dude, Hall of Fame. As for Durant. Unless he gets on the right team, he just a poor mans KG on the NBA level. Kind of unfair to compare OSU to Texas when the Buckeyes have a much more talented team. You put Durant on OSU and remove Oden, and you're probably cutting down the nets. You can pick any player in NBA history that you think was reason a certain team won the championship...then put that player on the Clippers team from that season, and they'd still suck.
